The PV115D speaker system includes an internal power amp to drive its own speakers, as well as an amplifier output jack to drive another (passive) loudspeaker system. It supplies up to 400 watts peak available power to the internal speakers, and up to 400 watts peak available power to an external 8 ohm speaker system, for a total of 800 watts peak available power. The amplifier is equipped with DDT compression, providing protection from excessive amplifier clipping and the consequent distortion. A balanced input to the preamp/EQ electronics consists of one combo female XLR and 1/4" TRS phone jack. A Contour switch provides some bass and treble lift when used as a background music source, etc. A Link Out 1/4" phone jack provides a pre-level send for linking multiple units together, to be controlled by a single volume control at a master unit.

Great Sounding When They Work

Bought a pair of this speakers a little more than a year ago and I love the sound you get out of them. The bass has a very nice punch to it and the sound is really clear. No distortion even when pushing the volume all the way up. The big downfall is that the built in amplifier will go out on you. I was in the middle of a gig when one of them just quit working on me. Luckily I was able to finish the gig with just one speaker. I took it in to an authorized repair center and the turn around time from the manufacturer was horrible. It took them about 2 months to repair it. When I finally got it back a few months later the other speakers failed on me as-well. Took it in for repairs and the same scenario. Both speakers have had the internal components replaced, and I thought that maybe that would take care of the problem, but I was wrong. Just this past weekend at a gig, one of them failed on me again. I would definitely not recommend this speakers. I will get it repaired through the pro coverage and more than likely look at getting rid of them and purchasing a better set of speakers. Needless to say, I can say that Peavey definitely let me down with this speakers.
Impressive powered speakers from Peavey

What makes these speakers rise above the rest is the wood and carpet panelling. This gives the speakers an edge over other powered speakers when it comes to sound quality. Other powered speakers sound "alright" but most are made of hard plastic and have more of a "PA" sound when most people are looking for the rich sound DJs and Bands desire. For the price, you can't beat the Peavey 15" two way powered speakers.

I purchased a set and then added two 18" Peavey subs. The only thing is, that I have to turn the gain level up to "8" to get a good movement out of my subs. I was curious if that takes away from the orginal speaker. Either way I am pleased with the results! I get plenty of Bass from my other two Peavey Subs that are Daisy Chained. (Reviewed them as well.) If wondering I have a total of 4 Peavey 18" subs.

Dj speaker

I bought a pair of these speakers to DJ with. They are the best speakers ever! At first they were way quiet but after one gig at a middle school they 'broke in' and are now extremely loud. I use just 2 for a medium sized school gym. A great value for the price and they don't leave your ears ringing after wards like cheap speakers do. Best speakers I have bought so far. Plenty of low end too, they rattle our house apart.
