Peavey Delta Blues 115 Tube Combo Amp Black

I'm a harp player and I bought my 115 30 watt Delta Blues used for $200.00 took it to a gig later that week and went back and thanked the salesman. After a while I dialed in the 2 channels to my liking and marked them and it's working great for both backup and leads I have had several amps both tube and solid state this one kicks butt by a mile or two. I haven't even tried to swap out the preamp tubes yet, don't think I'll need to. Peavey did good. Have some hum in the reverb at around 4 but have been researching it and should be able to correct it myself.....It could only be better if it were lighter. Almost Bought the Fender Blues Jr.(what I went shopping for) but the 15" speaker is lower/fuller hands down. I may still buy the Fender but haven't yet.

I spent months listening to YouTube demos of amps before choosing the Peavey Delta Blues. The other finalists were the VOX AC15, which is good for the British sound of The Beatles and The Who, and of course the many vintage Fender amps. Compared to the Peavey, the Fenders all sound wimpy. The Peavey just has something wild and raw about it, something Southern and swampy. I think it even sounds better clean than the Fender, even though that is what the Fender is known for. The built-in optical tremolo on the Peavey is not great. It?s okay at low settings, but if you really want good amp tremolo you might be better off with the Fender or the Vox, or using an effects pedal. I was worried that the Peavey would be too powerful for a living room practice amp, but it isn?t. It?s a little big for a practice amp, but it looks nice if you have the space for it. I?m not into distortion but you can get the Peavey to break up with high pre-gain. I haven?t had it long enough to have to replace tubes, so I don?t know how much of a hassle that will be. I like the fact that it is made in the U.S.A. It?s pretty heavy, so you might need a cart if you?re playing shows with it.

I'm working with an AC15, and this Delta Blues 115...naturally 30watts is a more powerful amp. If you're looking for natural distortion for blues, go no further than the Peavey. However, there is not much clean headroom in it; I'm the kind of player who wants a clean undistorted sound often, so I'm leaning towards the AC15. After all, I use a processor for FX, and I use that when I want a bluesy sound. I need to play around with it some more before I decide. If weight and portability were not a factor, I'd get an AC30, but lifting and carting the AC30 is really a bit too much for me, (bad back.) Both are great amps, but I need a clean sound. If I keep the Peavey, I'll let you know.

nice amp. warm sound. great tremolo. i recommend getting the tremolo pedal so you can switch between tremolo and clean. Tremolo pedal doesn't come with the amp. sounds much better than the fender blues junior in my opinion. Peavey Classics are also good altho the Classics I've had tend to overheat and give off some hum unlike the Delta Blues which are pretty quiet. Definitely a quality product, solid, well-built. Kind of big for casual apartment use, but the size of the speaker gives it the sound quality.

I simply do not have the resources to buy boutique amps. Even the used boutique amps were too expensive for me. I was getting very frustrated and almost made a very bad financial decision, when after several days of research I came across this little guy. Actually, there's nothing little about it. Everything inside the Delta Blues wants to melt your face with roots rock and blues riffs! It's natural state is very punchy, so if you want clean you'll have to experiment quite a bit but it can be done. Try rolling off your guitar volume and the mids on the amp. Having said that, you will not be able to get the vox clean sound if that is what you are after. The Delta Blues has a voice of its own and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! I play every week at church and we keep our amps off stage, so I have to leave the amp on one channel and use a pedal board. My favorite setting is on the drive channel, Pre on 3, Post on 12, reverb on 3, no tremolo, bass on 7, mids on 11, treble on 9. This give me a smooth, warm sound that I can drive the heck out of with a TS9 if need be. I'll be playing this amp for many years. Hope this helps!

ive been playing for almost 40 years, and figured out some time ago a great amp can make a marginal guitar sound better, but a great guitar through a marginal amp sounds...well, marginal ive played through (and owned) just about every brand out there, in search of the "tone" i needed to maximize the features of my intrument and my music style. then i stumbled on the delta blues 115. i can honestly say after playing one i would have paid double the price to get half the amp. extraordiary design, simplicity, sound and functionality.. you gotta try this amp
