I wasn't sure on a 6.5" snare, as i've only used shallow snares before. Upon tuning and playing with it, I fell in love with the the fat sound I was able to produce. I have been playing it for a few weeks and would definatley get one again.

I have owned several amazing pearl snare drums in my life. However, this is definitely not one of them. It is incredibly lightweight and flimsy and has obnoxious overtone rings that just won't go away. I tried two different Remo heads and bought new snare wires and I was still incredibly disappointed. The stock snare wires are about as flimsy and useful as a plastic straw.
I would by this again

I bought this as an extra snare. I was looking for wood in a larger size. I have a 10" Tama Soprano snare in wood and two steel drums made by pearl and gretsch.First thing I did when I took it out the box was to replace the remo batter with UV1 coated head. I tuned it really high it still has some range on it. I am really liking it. I can't wait to get it to church Sunday and put a mic on it.
