Pearl
Description
In 1973, Pearl set a benchmark in the drumming world with the introduction of Crystal Beat. A stunning combination of visual appeal and powerful sonic attack, Crystal Beat's revolutionary seamless construction was molded - not rolled - creating a strong acrylic drum system that could stand up to the riggors of touring.

The shells of the Crystal Beat series produce fat attack with big projection and clipped resonance. Tom shells are 6 mm thick, while the kick drum measures 7 mm. The drums are fitted with 1.6 mm triple-flanged hoops for just the right amount of attack without sacrificing tonal body.

Crystal Beat's toms include the Opti-Mount suspension system to remove undue shell pressure and increase sustain. Additional hardware features include Air Suspension floor tom feet, molded rubber gaskets and telescoping spurs with rubber or spike tip.

Snare, cymbals and hardware sold separately. Includes limited two-year manufacturer warranty.

I was in the market for an acrylic set, I was originally looking at Ludwigs, but the price was too high for me. I found these at Guitar Center in Fort Wayne, IN. The price was right and the drums look fantastic. I had a set of Ludwig Blue Vistalites back in the 70's and 80's, so I added blue heads to the Pearl drums as a nod to the look of my previous Ludwig set. These drums sound and look fantastic. You can't go wrong at the price they sell for.

More spider cracks problems. Went to my GC store in North Olmsted, Ohio to unbox and inspect my sons new Pearl Crystal Beats drums. And yes there were cracks around the leg braces on both floor toms. I can't believe the were able to leave the factory like this. We're sending them back to Pearl and try again. Pearl, there's a Problem here, hope you can fix it? Thanks to the guys at GC. Dana, Eric, Tyler and Bill for there concern and help.

First shell pack I ordered had big spider cracks in both floor toms. So I took them back to my local GC to order a replacement. Second shells I got also had spider cracks--only opened one of the floor toms this time and it was cracked in the same place. I stopped right there and packed everything up to return them once again. If you buy these, inspect them carefully. I'm not chancing another set. Definitely poor quality control at Pearl. I would expect more from them.
