Paiste 2002 China Cymbal 16"

This is a great china. I got the 20" model and it is explosive. Good musical cut, a good amount of white noise and medium sustain. It is great for powerful accents with the snare or slower crash riding during monster breakdowns. A bit washy for blast beats, but if you lay into it you can still get that accent on the blast. It sounds great on its own too, or crashing with another crash for a lot of power. It seems a bit heavier in weight than most other chinas out there. I was a bit hesitant at first to order since it is made out of the same alloy as the Alpha series. I have 16" and 18" Alpha chinas that I keep trying to like but just have too much of that garbage can clang (however the Alpha rock crashes are pretty good for the money, especially the larger 18"-20" models). On the flip side I like the Alpha's for their durability (I've beaten the snot out of my Alpha chinas for over 6 months and no cracks - I would have destroyed 2 or 3 Zildjians or Sabians by now), so I figured that should transcend to the 2002 line as well. So far that seems to be the case. This 2002 china is definitely worth the extra cash. They way they work the alloy for the 2002 line over the Alpha line is almost magical. I plan on getting other 2002 cymbals in the near future. I had considered the Rude series being that I play aggressive metal, but I've tried them and they just don't seem musical enough to me. The 2002 series seems to bridge that gap.

I just bought this the other day, and it's everything you could want in a heavy china cymbal. It has a great sound with both a good crash and good definition when using the tip of the stick. The only thing that I can see someone not liking is the sustain, which is long as it is a big heavy cymbal. I love it, it adds more variety to my cymbal arsenal.

I bought this cymbal early int the year. I love the way this china sounds. I fliped it upside down and it just sounds amazing. It is a really good value. If you are wanting a China and you have the money buy a paiste. It think their cymbals sound so so good. It is a great value
