I bought my PRS SE Custom 24 from Guitar Center, actually traded up a MIM Strat. I was worried at first it wouldn't compare in sound and quality, but has surpassed both. It has a very warm sound even with the coil taps but handles gain very well. With a little string stretching and use the trem is surprisingly stable for an import. This particular version, Cherry with Creme Binding, seems to be a Guitar Center exclusive, just because it's not an available option listed on the USA PRS site. The maple veneer is beautiful plus it was on sale for an insane price! I have achieved a broad range of tones from this beast, and a usable trem to boot. The one reason that I gave it 4 stars is because of a couple of paint specks under the lacquer (only under close inspection) but also gives it character like a birth mark. If you want a PRS and are worried it's for new age metal players then reconsider. This one can handle any thing you can challenge it with.

This is a pretty great guitar. The pros - mine had great craftsmanship overall, the pickups sound pretty good imo, i really love the color and the bird inlays, the more rounded 10" fingerboard radius is very comfortable for rhythm playing, I can't find any flaws in the binding, and overall it just feels like a good guitar, not an expensive guitar, but a good guitar. Now the cons - mine had three small black dots on the back of the body that were underneath the clear coat so they couldn't be cleaned off easily. It had a grounding issue in the wiring somewhere. The push pull pot felt pretty cheap and the input jack was loose. The 6th and 4th frets were a bit high. The trem was sitting so far off the body even with the saddles at their lowest point the action was still a bit high on the high e. And lastly the trem didn't return to pitch after use, the tech I took it too said it was because the six posts that the trem rocks on weren't drilled straight so there was way too much friction when the bridge was at the proper height which is probably why it was so high from the factory.

Overall I don't mean to say this is a bad guitar, I think a lot of it's flaws are common for a guitar at this price point, but still I think I got a bit of a dud that slipped past QC. A scarlet red se custom 24 that i played on the other hand was totally flawless for the price. I think the latter is probably the norm for PRS.

Comments about PRS SE Custom 24 Limited-Edition Electric Guitar:

Simply the best sub $1500 guitar I've played. This thing sounds like a cross between a strat and les paul as far as humbucker tone. Not sure what to compare it to with the coils split. All the bite without the muddyness that comes with les pauls. Has best of both worlds. Although when I received the guitar it required a truss rod adjustment to cure an annoying buzz and the intonation needed to be tweaked. The only reason it it not 5 stars is because of the annoying adjustments I feel got past QC. Was going to return it for another one, but decided to try and fix these issues. I'm so glad I did, what an awesome guitar for the money.

Comments about PRS SE Custom 24 Limited-Edition Electric Guitar:

The guitar is very nice. Fit & finish are excellent. The action is low and plays buzz free all over the fretboard. The trem bridge works well, just a bit of pressure on the bar and you get a nice vibrato effect. So far (one evening) I haven't seen issues with it going out of tune but with non-locking tuners I suspect it is going to happen.

I saw the PRS SE Custom 24 in my neighbor guitar shop. I just loved it, but I just didn't like the color.
So I looked up online and found this awesome color. I would rather get the orange one if they sold it. But this cherry sunburst is super cool too!
I just love it. Thank you.

Comments about PRS SE Custom 24 Limited-Edition Electric Guitar:

I've had custom 22's and this Korean model custom 24 is a real testimate to the quality control that PRS institutes in it's production of this instrument. It sounds great, plays extremely well and intonates all the way up the neck. And the vibrato bar can be used liberally without tuning issues. 4.5 out of 5. Oh it looks great too!

Best Guitar in the world for the price!!!

              By Slick Rick

              from England

Comments about PRS SE Custom 24 Limited-Edition Electric Guitar:

The 2017 prs se custom 24 is by far the most versatile, killer sounding guitar you can buy for this price. I would even say it sounds as good, if not better, than American made LP's!!! The coil tap on these 85/15's is flipping amazing. In the middle position you can get a full on telecaster hollow twang. The single coils sound better than my USA custom strat!!! There is NO noticeable difference in volume between the bucks and the coils, which is super useful, and there seems to be very limited loss in HF when rolling down the volume. The necks on these are your standard "plays like butter" affair prs are known for. Also these guitars are not outrageously pretty so you don't feel like pampering them. They are the guitars that will quietly replace all your more expensive axes and keep you playing for hours longer than you intended to. As a guitarist for over 25 years I can honestly say I have never been this impressed with a £600-800 guitar. Absolutely phenomenal axes. Plays great, looks sexy, sounds epic.
              P.s.
I would replace the tuners for locking ones and that's the only thing I would change, but that's just personal preference as the tuners it comes with are really good.

              By mcmiller

              from Tyler, TX

Comments about PRS SE Custom 24 Limited-Edition Electric Guitar:

Yes you can spend more on a guitar, but it won't be a better guitar.
PRS has included all the refinements that you wish Gibson & Fender would fix.
The guitar feels great, comfortable to play, and the new 85/15 pickups sound amazing.
Lastly, the guitar is easy on the eyes too. You can't go wrong with this purchase! I said the same thing about the Custom 22, I own both of them. They really are 2 different beast entirely. Love them both.

Comments about PRS SE Custom 24 Limited-Edition Electric Guitar:

The 2017 PRS SE Custom 24 with creme binding is my dream guitar. Up until now, the best neck I'd played was a Gibson SG Gold Series... this matches the quality of that neck. The best weight to sound ratio was a heavier '79 strat. This matches that weight/sound ratio. The best sounding electric I've ever heard was a '59 Gretsch 6120... and this does not match that, but it is in the ballpark. The coil-splitting makes it so versatile. I use this guitar for everything - rockabilly, blues, classic rock, alt-rock, and metal. I love this thing so much I even named it!

Comments about PRS SE Custom 24 Limited-Edition Electric Guitar:

PRS obviously has some very set ideas about what makes a great guitar and I go along with almost all of them. The best neck joint - a set tenon like a LP. The best fret access - like an LP double cut. The best string spacing - wide like Fender. The best tremolo - like a Strat. The pickups - well, most people change out pickups anyway - I find the stock PRS pickups to be too middle heavy and boxy sounding. The fret board - here is where I part ways with PRS - 10 inch radius is too steep, the strings fret out in hard bends. A 12 inch radius is more or less standard these days on anything but a Fender. Also, the frets would definitely benefit from being a little bigger, like medium jumbo size.

I don't want to pan the guitar completely, because in spite of these design disagreements, the guitar plays very nicely, the finish and build quality are first rate. PRS seems very reluctant to offer any variations on their design and I think they lose devotees because of this. If they would offer different fret board radii and fret size options, I think they would greatly increase their customer base.

In spite of my complaints, I will keep this guitar because it fills the spot a Les Paul would fill in my collection, but I don't like the way an LP feels or the high fret access, and the PRS solves both of these problems. A set of Seymour Duncans and it will be a sweet-sounding and playing guitar in spite of its drawbacks.

I own many more expensive guitars and really didn't want to get another, but I had this ESP EC1000 laying around, so I decided to trade it in. The neck on the ESP was a limp noodle and it played horribly. It looked great. I traded for this PRS. All I'll say is that this Korean made PRS plays as good as my LP Traditional and sounds every bit as good. You can't loose with this guitar. GS gave me $350 for my crapie ESP and I'm happy it's gone. Get one.

I just purchased this from my local Guitar Center after watching youtube demos of the guitar in action. I own a 1992 PRS EG series and a PRS CE24 from about 1999 - and this Korean made guitar plays as well, and sounds as good as the USA made ones. The video youtube reviews were correct in their assessments - this guitar is excellent! I was not so impressed with the previous year's models, but at least this 2017 model hits all the sweet spots. I would buy it again, and recommend it to anyone else looking for a good guitar. The setup, by the way, done by the guitar tech at the Guitar Center, was great - action is perfect, as is the intonation. The strings needed a bit of breaking in to stay in tune, but after a couple of hours playing they are fine. I can't wait until my next gig to take it out and see what it does live!

With the exception of an uneven nut and a slight drip of finishing lacquer on the headstock ( the side), plays great, sounds, great, stays in tune with tremolo use. It even was shipped three months earlier than originally promised. I brought it back to GC to set it up as it had some buzz, and they took care of it. Great deal, no disappointment here.

My main guitar has been a 1988 American-made Strat, which I still love. But the PRS sounded like such a great value for the money that I had to check it out. The Custom 24 SE plays smoothly and has gotten good reviews from friends who have heard me play it. I use the tremolo bar, and I was worried about the new guitar staying in tune. To my great relief, I have had no tuning issues. I used the PRS for a four-hour '60s-variety gig with one band and a weekend jazz standards gig with another band, and I can't complain at all. I appreciated the gig bag but also bought a hard shell case.

This guitar has a poor nut part on this particular guitar I bought it from guitar center. Goes out of tune during simple string bends. Installed locking tuners and no difference which probably means the nut is pinching the strings. It's a shame because it plays great.
