Love this guitar!
I bought my PRS SE Custom 24 from Guitar Center, actually traded up a MIM Strat. I was worried at first it wouldn't compare in sound and quality, but has surpassed both. It has a very warm sound even with the coil taps but handles gain very well. With a little string stretching and use the trem is surprisingly stable for an import. This particular version, Cherry with Creme Binding, seems to be a Guitar Center exclusive, just because it's not an available option listed on the USA PRS site. The maple veneer is beautiful plus it was on sale for an insane price! I have achieved a broad range of tones from this beast, and a usable trem to boot. The one reason that I gave it 4 stars is because of a couple of paint specks under the lacquer (only under close inspection) but also gives it character like a birth mark. If you want a PRS and are worried it's for new age metal players then reconsider. This one can handle any thing you can challenge it with.

Pretty good guitar
This is a pretty great guitar. The pros - mine had great craftsmanship overall, the pickups sound pretty good imo, i really love the color and the bird inlays, the more rounded 10" fingerboard radius is very comfortable for rhythm playing, I can't find any flaws in the binding, and overall it just feels like a good guitar, not an expensive guitar, but a good guitar. Now the cons - mine had three small black dots on the back of the body that were underneath the clear coat so they couldn't be cleaned off easily. It had a grounding issue in the wiring somewhere. The push pull pot felt pretty cheap and the input jack was loose. The 6th and 4th frets were a bit high. The trem was sitting so far off the body even with the saddles at their lowest point the action was still a bit high on the high e. And lastly the trem didn't return to pitch after use, the tech I took it too said it was because the six posts that the trem rocks on weren't drilled straight so there was way too much friction when the bridge was at the proper height which is probably why it was so high from the factory. Overall I don't mean to say this is a bad guitar, I think a lot of it's flaws are common for a guitar at this price point, but still I think I got a bit of a dud that slipped past QC. A scarlet red se custom 24 that i played on the other hand was totally flawless for the price. I think the latter is probably the norm for PRS.

Can get a wide range of tones just using the guitar controls. Very good feel, excellent action. If it weren't for the control knob interfering when picking by the bridge pickup I would have given 5 stars. I hope I will adapt and learn to avoid hitting the volume control.

Guitar is very nice for the price. Not sure I received the Se 24 limited edition ordered (cherry burst?) . In reality looks just like Vintage Sunset burst having sunny Center and very red edge color and back, (which was my other preference). Small dark spot in finish next to switch- beauty mark. Undecided about pickups in neck and middle positions, like the bridge sound, need a few more days with it

Beautiful looking guitar but the first day the bridge screws were so over tightened, one of the screw heads popped leaving the screw stuck in the wood.

I own another PRS SE Standard that I like, and I like this one too except it arrived with a really bad factory setup, there's no way it cleared inspection this way and had to have been missed. I ordered this guitar for shipping because of COVID-19, I mean no better way to spend a stimulus check. The first thing I did when it arrived was tune and start playing it, I didn't even inspect it closely. But while I was playing I noticed quite a bit of fret buzzing on the 12th fret and that's when I looked closer at the factory setup. Bridge: This was basically rocking back and had the butt end of the bridge sitting on the body of the guitar when it should be level. So I adjusted the claw to level it, then I noticed the bridge was at floating super high at 2.5mm, much higher than the recommended 1/16th. So I looked close and the 6 bridge setting screws only had the 2 screws set for the Low and High E sides. The middle screws all were set high. So I had to completely unstring a new guitar and set it up. Neck/Frets: After setting the bridge to the 1/16th (about 2mm) that PRS and John Mann recommends, I had to do a basic setup, saddle height, intonation, etc. and after all this I still got the fret buzzing at the 12th fret, but it was better than before the setup. At this point I decided to just play for a little bit before adjusting the truss for neck relief (then likely having to go through minor adjustments again). Then in the process of playing, I busted the 1st string, but had to use my only back up set to do a proper setup. It seems like the majority of people have wonderful experiences, and I did on my first PRS SE, but this one has just been riddled with bad luck. So I want to chalk it up to just bad luck, and I was just unfortunate to have received one that didn't get a good setup from PRS. Luckily, customer service replied via Twitter super quickly, so I don't think there will be issues with getting this resolved.

Dear GC Alpharetta, I'm thinking about to buy this PRS SE Custom 24 guitar. Can you tell me what's year of production, is it possible to discuss the final price for me? I live in Minsk, Belarus, should I pay a sales tax if I pay by card directly and ask my friend from Alpharetta to pick up the item from your shop? Thanks, Andrei
This is a 2016 model. We have to collect sales tax in the state that the guitar is picked up from.submitted8 years ago

Why is this one slightly more expensive then the other SEs? I think it's only 30 bucks but I don't see a difference besides color.
The finish is the only difference in price between these.
