5 month mid term review

Please see my last review below for the initial feeling. Using for 5 months so far, still really a great metal guitar but not for the majorities. The pickups are still arguable for warm vs muddy. Still a room for the quality improvement. Except that I'll leave my playing as a review.
Disappointed by pickups

This guitar has amazing playablity and one of the best for its price. My guitar came in good condition but the problem was the pickups. I assume they were not wired correctly because as soon as i went on a high gain it made buzzing sound. I own also own a squire which didnt buzz on high gain. Thanks to the return policy

First of all, overall, I love this guitar. Owned for 3 weeks now, and I still have 24 days of return eligibility so I'll keep inspecting by myself, but this review won't change unless I find something else. Color: I love this color. The original SE Custom 24 doesn't have this color at this point. You should go this one or Core Custom 24 Floyd for this color. Fretboard: It's Ebony unlike SE Custom 24. This looks really gorgeous but needs more maintenance according to what I heard. Floyd Rose: I have been using Floyd Rose bridge guitars more than 20 years and this one had a great reliability as well. The tune stays great. Don't get scared of 1000 OEM. The spec is the same one. Tone: The tasteful PRS' modern tone. Indonesian product or SE did not bother me. But the sustain is poor as a nature of the Floyd Rose bridge. The location of the manufacture: From Indonesia, but the manufacturer is Cor-Tek which HQ is located in South Korea. So it shouldn't be technically different from Korean manufactured one, except I still feel like there is still a room for the improvement. Some cosmetic imperfection: This is why I deducted 1 star. I found several scratches on the fretboard, some uncleard glue residue on the fretboard(you can see it in my picture on the fret #10), and some uneven finishes. I contacted PRS Customer Center if I could get a better quality one if I return this and reorder it, but the answer was no. I still decided not to be bothered for these imperfections, but I don't think I can say its quality is trustworthy as much as PRS advertises. Many would not want a guitar with $1,000 of money this kind of imperfection. Trivial comment: There is no difference between the model year 2022 and 2023, but I hope 2023 would have a better quality. In conclusion: If someone asks me "would you recommend this guitar to others?" Then I would say: No, if you want just a PRS Custom 24 with good value for money. Go for an original SE Custom 24. No, if you are new to a Floyd Rose tremolo. Go for a non-Floyd SE Custom 24. No, if you want just a metal guitar. There are many better alternatives with this price range. This guitar has a Floyd Rose bridge, but also a set-in neck, so it will be really hard to maintain the neck's tension and the balance. But if you don't have much money, but really love PRS, Metal music, a Floyd Rose bridge, a fair tone, and this cool Charcoal Burst color just like me, go for it. This is the only one option that would satisfy you all.
Great player, but uninspiring tone…

I have used this guitar with my band, live and in rehearsals… Plays fantastically once I set it up to my desired specs (Std D tuning, 10-52 strings, FU Tone brass block), but these PRS stock pickups have no grunt and snarl to them, so I plan to add an SD Black Winter set like in my EC Black Metal FR (dropped C). I have reverted back to using my Kramer Assault Plus which came loaded with the SD Alternative 8 set. Will likely use Custom 24 as primary D guitar again after replacing pickups. For this pickup issue alone, I'm giving it 3 stars, otherwise, it would be 5, as spending over 200 bucks more is a bit off putting after spending over $1100 for this plus a hard shell case for an import.

Received mine yesterday. Absolutely beautiful. Everything arrived in perfect condition. I've played it all day today and can't put it down. Takes a bit to get it tuned at first but after that, WOW. I could not be happier with this guitar.
PRS should be a shame

I don't ever write reviews, had to on this. I bought it on-line, it showed up new in the box. (not from guitar center) 1st - I go to plug in and the jack about fell out. 2nd - won't stay in tune…at all!!! Took it to the guy who sets up all my guitars. The following is everything that had to be done to it. - Floyd was rubbing the side of the body, basically would stick in whatever position it was in. Had to trim body to make it work correctly. - pickups were wired out of phase - no intonation at all, saddles were not close to being in the right position. - nut was not set properly, had to trim the neck. - replaced the bridge pickup due to it sounded like a mid range cat fight (fingers on chalk board sound). - after all this and it still won't stay in tune!!!!! - all the tuners including the ones on the Floyd feel like there full of sand. PRS customer service response. Due to I had the guitar set up (which I do with all my guitars) it voided the warranty "If the guitar is not performing as intended, we could arrange for it to come into our tech center for a proper setup. I could have this work completed at a discounted rate, considering the circumstances".
