Description

The PRS S2 McCarty 594 electric guitar delivers vintage-inspired looks and sound in an affordable, reliable package. Featuring PRS's iconic contoured body shape and bird inlays, the S2 McCarty 594 is loaded with custom-wound 58/15 "S" humbucking pickups that split for single-coil tones. The mahogany body and maple top provide a balanced tone with natural warmth and articulate highs. The S2 McCarty 594 has a Pattern Vintage neck profile that maximizes comfort for all playing styles.

Powerful 58/15 "S" Pickups Deliver Versatile Tone

The S2 McCarty 594 is equipped with PRS 58/15 "S" humbucking pickups that deliver a range of vintage-inspired tones from full and warm to bright and articulate. Coil-splitting capabilities provide single-coil tones for added versatility. The bridge pickup has a powerful, punchy tone, while the neck pickup offers a smokey warmth perfect for jazz and blues.

Iconic Body Shape and Appointments

The S2 McCarty 594 features PRS's iconic double-cutaway body shape with contoured edges for maximum comfort. PRS's trademark bird inlays adorn the rosewood fretboard, which has a 24.594" scale length for slinky playability. A two-piece zinc bridge anchors the guitar, keeping tuning stable through heavy use.

Balanced Tonewood Construction

A mahogany body and maple top provide the S2 McCarty 594 with a balanced tone that has natural warmth as well as clarity and articulation. The mahogany contributes midrange focus and resonance, while the maple adds brightness and snap. Together, these tonewoods allow the 58/15 "S" pickups to shine through with a range of vintage-inspired tones.

Pattern Vintage Neck Profile

The S2 McCarty 594 has a Pattern Vintage neck profile that is slightly thicker than PRS's Pattern neck for enhanced comfort and sustain. The profile works well for both thumb-over and thumb-behind fretting techniques. 22 medium jumbo frets provide a familiar playing feel for guitarists of all styles.

Writing and home recording with this versatile and well balanced guitar has been a game changer. I prefer it over my Les Paul and SG. So much so that I got rid of them both to pick up another PRS. The balance is truly amazing for me. Chances are, you'll love this guitar!

Been playing for 30 years and have owned everything. You can keep all you Les Paul's and Strats. Just give me my PRS S2 and my America performer Tele and keep all the rest. Oh thro in the "PAUL" guitar also by PRS and you can keep everything else on the market. The perfect trio IMHO.

  • Well worth the investment

I have Les Paul's and Fender Strat's/Tele's and the PRS McCarty has a range of tones I can't easily get from the others. This guitar is becoming a favorite to play.

This guitar is amazing! It's my first PRS. Most of us can't afford the higher end 4K models, but this one at $1750 is very reasonably priced (especially for a USA made model). The push-pull coil setting on the pickups is perfect for players (like me) who want to switch over to Strat-like tones in the middle of a gig. The neck is super comfortable and plays on the "faster side". The weight and overall hardware on it is perfection. The only con is that it doesn't come with a hard case. I can't wait to play this guitar at shows.

Hi! I need information about the size and weight of the guitar in the package. PRS S2 McCarty 594 Electric Guitar Faded Blue Smokeburst (Item #: 1500000315096). Perhaps you can help me. Thanks!

All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be approximately 7 - 8.5 lbs

Is the neck similar to Gibson Les Paul 60's slim neck?

    Open Reply - Thomas
It has a Pattern Vintage neck. "The Pattern Vintage neck has the same width measurements as PRS's Pattern neck but is slightly thicker front to back and features an asymmetrical carve with a little less meat on the bass side of the neck toward the nut end and a little less meat on the treble side of the neck from the twelfth fret to the heel."
