PRS S2 Custom 24 Electric Guitar Elephant Grey

Description
The PRS S2 Custom 24 is a stripped-down take on the legendary Custom 24. Featuring a resonant mahogany body with an elegant figured maple top and Pattern Thin mahogany neck, this guitar provides effortless playability and a powerful voice. Its dual 85/15 "S" humbucking pickups offer a balanced tonal range with remarkable clarity, while a push-pull tone pot activates spunky single-coil tones. A PRS S2 vibrato bridge and locking tuners provide stable intonation for any playing style.
Pattern Thin Neck Profile For Fluid Playing
The S2 Custom 24 features a Pattern Thin mahogany neck, a streamlined profile inspired by PRS's Pattern necks of the 1980s and 1990s. With a shallow "C"-shaped curve, the Pattern Thin neck allows fast, fluid playing across all 24 medium jumbo frets. A rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface, while distinctive S2 Birds inlays mark key positions along the neck.
Versatile 85/15 "S" Pickups Power a Broad Tonal Palette
PRS 85/15 "S" humbucking pickups provide a balanced tonal range with great clarity and articulation. In humbucking mode, the pickups deliver a warm, full voice that works well for rock, blues and jazz. A push-pull tone pot activates the pickups' coil-splitting function, resulting in brighter single-coil tones perfect for country, funk and fusion. This versatility makes the S2 Custom 24 an exceptionally expressive instrument.
PRS S2 Vibrato and Locking Tuners Provide Rock-Solid Intonation
Anchoring the S2 Custom 24 is a PRS S2 vibrato bridge and tailpiece, which provides subtle expression or full dive bombs with stable tuning. PRS S2 locking tuners feature an updated design and precision gearing, allowing for quick string changes while keeping the guitar in tune through any playing style. This hardware combination delivers the tuning stability and tonal versatility for which PRS guitars are renowned.

This Guitar Converted Me

This was a "gateway" guitar for me. It was the first PRS I ever bought after wanting, but not being able to afford, one since the first time I touched a Custom 24 in the early 1990s. When the S2s came along, I knew I had to try one, and I picked one of these up a few years ago during Guitar-a-Thon for something like $1099. The prices have gone up, but the S2s are still a step up in terms of build quality, feel, and consistency than anything from the other big American brands in the same price range, and they are competitive tonally as well. I own US-made versions of all the most popular guitars except a 335, but this became my go-to very quickly. It's really the playability of the neck that makes the biggest difference, but PRS has also engineered guitars that don't have the same annoyances as the others when it comes to things like string-pull and tuning stability, tremolo function, and ergonomics. I liked the S2 custom so much, I swapped my LP special out for an S2 Standard that I loaded with P-90s and saved up for a CE-24 as well (which does all the same things even better, albeit for a little more money). After 30 years, I've been fully converted to a PRS player, and it all started with test driving one of these. I wish I hadn't had to wait so long, but I'm glad this more affordable, US-made PRS finally showed up. It's a great guitar that confirmed everything I suspected all along.
