It was everything I expected.
If I ever need another stand i would definitely consider getting another one of these.

Awkward in some respects
This stand did not work for me. Not that it doesn't hold a 21" ride, but that it's awkward and more trouble than a 2-tier stand. I was looking for a 1-tier boom stand to hold my ride down low over the right side of my bass drum. I have the 1-tier PDP 800 series straight stand - which is simple and, in my opinion, better than the boom - but I wanted to try the boom. And, for the price, why not? It has two-wingnut function on the tilter, which is inconvenient and, at times, hard to deal with. I was looking for a quick set-up, tear-down boom, but what I got was a wrestling match. It's nice that the boom fits in the tubing so I can use it as a straight stand, but I just put my old PDP straight stand back in its place. I was looking for a 1-tier solution for the road, and there aren't a lot of options out there. It was just too much trouble to deal with. It's on my practice set at the house now. If all you're doing is setting this up and keeping it in place for practice, it'll work for you.

I bought two of these to decrease the weight of the hardware bag, and have a tom mounted on each one. They are rock solid and very light.
Solid, good looking, good value

Works well for my purposes. I'm a guitar player honing my drumming skills. Holds my Sabian XS20 crash just fine.
