These have a organic, woody tone and are a good addition to my percussion setup.

I love this rattle. I play a lot of avant music. Constantly looking for different sounds and combinations thereof. While I have not played the more expensive Meinl version, I see no need to explore. This is a great time keeping piece and also provides wonderful effects. I use it in combination with other organic shakers, bells, etc, and also mix it with bar chimes, etc. For the money, you cannot go wrong.
