As a drummer who plays a bunch of shows, lasting around an hour per each set, I can say that the throne you sit on does matter. I used to just play on a basic throne with not much padding and I used to get incredible sore. As soon as I got this throne, with the thick padded seat, I haven't had that problem. The silver sparkle also matches my newport kit. Don't get a throne with a seat back, as it will only encourage bad posture.

I bought 2 of these...it's a very comfortable throne and seems pretty solid WHEN NEW. The first one developed a hairline crack on the black metal clamp the connects the rod to the base. I thought, enh just a freak thing so I bought another one but after 6 mos the same thing happened in the same spot. Now..I'm not a heavy guy (216lb) and I don't bounce around or rock back and forth on it while I play. It shouldn't happen..once it cracks, it starts to wobble. Just enough to distract you when your playing then eventually you feel like your going to lose your balance and fall...picture that while on stage. I'm gonna try to see if a buddy of mine can run a bead welding across the spot. I have had much cheaper thrones last over 10 years..I can't be the only that has had this problem with the throne.

Great throne!

By THOMAS DEFELICE

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Orange County Drum & Percussion Drum Throne:

After 2-3 hours on my old throne I would get a tight back and it would become uncomfortable to play. This Orange County throne is incredibly comfortable and I can play for several hours without any discomfort. I'd recommend it to anyone who plays live shows or for long periods of time.

Love it!

Comments about Orange County Drum & Percussion Drum Throne:

I have a another more expensive throne for my acoustic kit, but I wanted another one for my electric kit. I bought this primarily because of the price, but this is a really nice throne! I suspect this one will start showing up at some gigs! :)

Comments about Orange County Drum & Percussion Drum Throne:

The seat post clamp is a perfect design. I was a bit worried with the small thumb screws, but everything sits tight even when moderately tensioned. The throne has a couple of issues that led me to move the throne from the kit to the keyboards; I sit quite high, and the seat post is moving a little, but noticeably in a typical pop/rock situation. Also the seat is just a bit too soft and this throws me a bit off balance sometimes (I´m 170lbs). If these issues don´t affect your style, this is pretty much the perfect throne.

    Very Nice Throne

    By MIKE WRIGHT

Comments about Orange County Drum & Percussion Drum Throne:

This throne has plenty of padding and is very sturdy. The seat is easily removable for transportation, as the complete unit is a little heavy. A good deal for the money.

Comments about Orange County Drum & Percussion Drum Throne:

Feels just as solid as my old Roc-n-soc which I've had about 20 years. Switching to a round throne to improve posture; the bike-style seat with backrest is comfy but makes you get lazy... This has really thick, and fairly dense padding so should be pretty good for the long haul. The memory lock appears to be an improvement over my old throne; there are actually TWO locks---one to clamp the threaded post and another clamp that settles into a notch on top of that.

Comments about Orange County Drum & Percussion Drum Throne:

Would never have considered this throne but I played on a borrowed kit for a music video shoot and this thing was super comfy. Was on the kit for hours at a time for the shoot and I was never once uncomfortable. Liked it so much I had to buy one for myself. I have been using a Pork Pie throne for a couple of years and loved it but it is getting worn out, this one is great, hoping it lasts.

Comments about Orange County Drum & Percussion Drum Throne:

Got this on sale from our GC store last week. Major improvement over my old throne, which has a 3 inch seat cushion. This one is 5 inches thick. Color is gray with a light sparkle in it. The seat top is fabric, it's like sitting on an office chair. All of the hardware is solid and it has a 500 lb weight capacity. After putting all new heads on the drums and adding some new cymbals, I figured I might as well get a new throne. Best seat in the house.

Comments about Orange County Drum & Percussion Drum Throne:

Great throne for the money. I used to get numbness in my hips and the back of my right thigh after 15 minutes of playing and would constantly adjust my body position while playing to relieve the numbness.
This throne has eliminated the discomfort and numbness I was having. No one's body is the same as the next person and thrones are the same.
