Ariel Posen Doesn't Need a "Real" Amp to Melt Faces | UAFX Pedal Sessions

Description
UAFX 2.0 Firmware Update
Launching November 11, 2025, the UAFX 2.0 firmware update delivers a major performance upgrade to Universal Audio’s two-button pedals, unlocking deep MIDI integration, enhanced footswitch control, and streamlined app connectivity. Players can now select from four new footswitch modes—Live/Preset AB, A/Bypass + B/Bypass (Tour Mode), A/B–C/D, and Boost + Live/Preset—ideal for live “channel-switching” workflows. The update introduces 128 recallable presets via MIDI Program Change, real-time parameter control through MIDI CC messages, and MIDI beat clock sync for time-based effects including the Starlight Echo Station, Astra Modulation Machine, Galaxy ’74 Tape Echo & Reverb, and Del-Verb Ambience Companion. Bluetooth connectivity has been rebuilt from the ground up for increased reliability, while a new wired USB connection enables direct app control from iOS or Android devices. USB MIDI support further enhances expression, preset switching, and clock sync capabilities, making it easier than ever to integrate UAFX pedals into modern performance rigs. All updates are free and compatible exclusively with dual-footswitch UAFX models.
The Universal Audio UAFX Woodrow '55 instrument amplifier effects pedal is an innovative pedal that perfectly captures the warm, tube-driven tones of the iconic tweed amplifiers of the 1950s. Featuring cutting-edge modeling technology and components, the Woodrow '55 provides an end-to-end emulation of a coveted 1x12" combo amp from rock 'n' roll's golden age.
Authentic Vintage Tone and Breakup
The Woodrow '55 delivers the sweet cleans and saturated overdrive of a meticulously miked vintage tweed amp. With three distinct boost options, guitarists can push the pedal into a throaty growl reminiscent of early rock records. The "Stock" boost provides clean gain, the "KP-3K" boost emphasizes clarity and high end, and the "EP-III" boost generates a thick, warm tone.
Studio-Quality Speaker and Microphone Emulations
A major component of the Woodrow '55's hyper-realistic sound is its emulation of vintage speakers and microphones. The pedal comes with three cab/mic/speaker settings optimized for the three boost types. Upon registration, three additional cab options become available as free downloads. These studio-quality emulations provide an array of tones suited for any genre or recording situation.
Advanced Connectivity and Control
The Woodrow '55 features a USB-C port for firmware updates and Bluetooth connectivity to pair with Universal Audio's UAFX app. The app unlocks enhanced editing features, access to artist presets, and more. For even greater control, the Woodrow '55 has a "4-cable" mode that bypasses an amplifier's preamp, effectively adding two extra channels. Multiple UAFX pedals can be daisy-chained in this configuration.
Road-Ready and Built to Last
Despite its advanced technology and components, the Woodrow '55 has a streamlined, roadworthy design. Its durable metal chassis and footswitches are built to withstand years of performance and studio use. For grab-and-go portability, Universal Audio includes a recycled nylon gig bag to protect this professional-grade pedal.

What a perfect Tweed sound! It takes a bit to learn how to dial in the tones you are looking for but once you do the cleans and overdrive are glorious.

You can get good enough tones out of it, but there are definitely latency issues. There is also a weird white noise 'recycle' effect if you palm mute enough. I'm really surprised how many people rave about these compared to how little I thought of this one.
