Description
UAFX 2.0 Firmware Update
Launching November 11, 2025, the UAFX 2.0 firmware update delivers a major performance upgrade to Universal Audio’s two-button pedals, unlocking deep MIDI integration, enhanced footswitch control, and streamlined app connectivity. Players can now select from four new footswitch modes—Live/Preset AB, A/Bypass + B/Bypass (Tour Mode), A/B–C/D, and Boost + Live/Preset—ideal for live “channel-switching” workflows. The update introduces 128 recallable presets via MIDI Program Change, real-time parameter control through MIDI CC messages, and MIDI beat clock sync for time-based effects including the Starlight Echo Station, Astra Modulation Machine, Galaxy ’74 Tape Echo & Reverb, and Del-Verb Ambience Companion. Bluetooth connectivity has been rebuilt from the ground up for increased reliability, while a new wired USB connection enables direct app control from iOS or Android devices. USB MIDI support further enhances expression, preset switching, and clock sync capabilities, making it easier than ever to integrate UAFX pedals into modern performance rigs. All updates are free and compatible exclusively with dual-footswitch UAFX models.
The Universal Audio UAFX 1176 Studio compressor effects pedal brings the iconic 1176LN Limiting Amplifier to your pedalboard. With three distinct compressor modes, simple controls and a rugged design, the 1176 Studio compressor allows you to craft classic compression textures with ease.
Authentic 1176 Emulation in a Pedal
The 1176 Studio compressor pedal features circuit-accurate emulation of the legendary 1176LN studio compressor. Single mode provides normal compression, Dual mode emulates two 1176 compressors in series for gritty, squashed tones, while Sustain mode uses parallel compression to generate endless sustain. The 1176's famous "all buttons in" setting is also included for extreme compression.
Simple, Intuitive Controls Shape Your Tone
With just Attack, Release, input and output knobs, the 1176 Studio compressor keeps operation straightforward. The Attack knob sets the compressor's response time, from slow to fast. Release controls how quickly the compressor stops reducing gain once the input signal drops below the threshold. Input adjusts the signal sent to the compressor, while output controls the final level. The Ratio knob provides infinite adjustment from 2:1 up to all buttons in.
Roadworthy Design, Studio-Quality Sound
Housed in a rugged cast aluminum enclosure, the 1176 Studio compressor pedal is built to withstand the rigors of travel and stage use. However, its boutique components and circuitry provide studio-quality sound, with premium AD/DA conversion and a 96kHz sample rate. A 9V DC power supply is required to operate the pedal.
Parallel Compression and True Bypass
For maximum tonal flexibility, the 1176 Studio compressor includes a parallel compression blend control to mix compressed and uncompressed signals. It also provides switchable true bypass and buffered bypass modes. With authentic 1176 tone, intuitive controls and a performance-ready design, the 1176 Studio compressor brings iconic compression to your pedalboard.
