Just want to say that we purchased this for Worship nights at our church and it has been great. We have had it for over 3 years now and it still works great. Very easy to use very portable and not to heave or bulky to move around. We are looking with something with more channels now but this is still use today. You can't go wrong with the price either. Very happy and glad we bought this.

I bought this device because I was tired of renting each time I was throwing a party. I matched it up to 2 Peavey PR 15. the sound quality is just great, and extremly powerfull. as it was laking some bass i bought a Peavey subwoffer PV 118. I use the main output in mono for the speaker and the monitor output for the subwoofer. the sound is cristal clear and the bass very powerfull. I may consider buying a dedicated amp for the subwoffer, to get back to stereo on my speaker. the case looks really robust, the only downside is the should have either go with a dark panel or put a small front light, not a big deal in light of the global quality.

I bought one of these a few years ago for its compactness, power, simplicity, tank like casing and cover and shoulder strap portability. I was disappointed from the very beginning at how under powered it seemed to be next to my Yamaha 8 channel power mixer. The Yamaha blew it out of the water for head room and was equipped with lower powered amps. Recently the master volume pot has been screwing up, spiking the LEDs into the red zone with random noise. Turns out that pot is shot. No matter what that's due to (could've been bumped or something but I'm not sure), it's going to cost me over $100 in labor to replace a $15 part due to its design which in my opinion is flawed to the point where I don't recommend it or plan on buying another. It's a fantastic design in some ways, but this makes it a cheap piece of junk.

  • Power rating is misleading

Power is definitely NOT 500w RMS (continuous) per side. Soundcraft will only say it's 500W @ 4ohms, but I suspect that's peak power. I have a 30-year-old Yamaha P2100 that's 85 watts that's louder that this PigRac1000st (no kidding). It's very easy to drive this amp into distortion with just vocals (ie, micing nothing else). FX not so keen, either. Overall sound OK, but not as crisp as I was expecting. I returned it and bought a Yamaha unpowered mixer. If you want pro sound, you gotta pay for it. No free lunches. And gotta say, I'll think hard about whether or not I buy Soundcraft again because of the spec issue. I'll also think hard about these reviews, too.

I bought this powered mixer for my acoustic duo, and I am using it for DJin weddings/parties/etc, as well as small venues for a live band. The GigRac is great! The sound is good for all venues for my acoustic duo and DJ purposes. I just add a separate power amp for monitors when doing live band applications. Portability is great too. I highly recommend it!

I'm a mobile DJ who does country line dancing and california mixes for Elks Lodge and American Legion size venues. The Gigrac along with 2 peavey pr12s pack incredible sound! I plug my computer into both rca inputs so I can have both decks on my dj program have it's own channel (which was originally the only reason I bought this over another). But the travel strap makes it so convenient to transport and I would purchase this again in a heartbeat!
