I travel every week and wanted to bring my Manuel Rodriguez Model E along with me on the plane. This case is perfect because it is light and thin but provides excellent protection against luggage handling machinery. The TSA approved locks are also helpful.

This the worst buy I have ever made from guitar center. When I received my case It had a major ding on the seal on the top of the case and the case would not stay open. The strap inside the case that determines how far it will open was too short. Was afraid the lid would slam on my hands or guitar as I was either putting my guitar in or removing the guitar from the case. Took the case back to guitar center to attempt an exchange. the three guitar cases that were in stock at the local guitar center had worse seals than mine. One of which was right out of the box and you could slip a peice of paper threw the bottom seal of the case. All of the cases at the local guitar centerhad the same issue with not staying open. The Guitar center rep told me that it is a case and that it's job was to protect the guitar and although it wouldn't stay open it still did its job. I needed a guitar case really bad and I needed one that would fit my thin guitar, I decided just to make do. I didn't want to have to hold the guitar case open with my head while I pull my guitar out of the case and or access the storage compartment. I cut the strap on the inside of the guitar case to fix my immediate need and replaced the strap later with something longer later. Do not waste your money on this.

    • Too heavy and too tight

I bought this case for my Yamaha thin line acoustic/electric APX 500II. The guitar fit in the case very snugly. There wasn't enough extra room for the strap to stay on. The case is made very well, but it is also very heavy to carry. I am returning it for the soft case. This is a good case if you take it on air planes. But if you don't, it's extra protection features make it very inconvenient for everyday use.

    • You can't go wrong with this case.

I was amazed at how light and sturdy this case is. I also bought one for my main electric. I've been a studio and session player for more years than I care to remember and used to travel with my guitars in the old Anvil cases. They weigh a ton and I travel extensively. That got old really fast. Since my initial purchase I've had the opportunity to use them on three different occasions, (California, Washington State and Arizona) and they've proven their stuff. Don't be fooled by their light weight. The construction is great and you'll have piece of mind when you travel. I even use them locally because they're lighter and better built than my standard cases.
