Description
The QSC CP12 powered speaker delivers professional grade sound in an ultracompact package. Weighing just 30.3 pounds and standing only 20.3" high, the CP12 is the lightest and most portable speaker in its class, ideal for mobile DJs, bands and anyone seeking a lightweight yet powerful PA solution. Thanks to advanced DSP and QSC's Intrinsic Correction technology, the CP12 provides accurate, full-range sound with tight bass, clear mids and crisp highs, protecting the components from damage even at maximum volume.
The Ultimate in Portable Power
Powering the CP12 is an efficient yet robust 1,000W Class-D amplifier module with passive cooling, generating ample power for any gig while remaining cool to the touch. The molded enclosure houses a 12" woofer for deep low-end response down to 47Hz and a 1.4" silk dome tweeter for shimmering highs up to 20kHz. Despite its diminutive size, the CP12 delivers a wide 75° coverage pattern to fill even large venues with pristine sound.
Simplified One-Touch EQ
The CP12 features a single Contour dial on the rear panel for fast and intuitive EQ adjustment. Select from presets optimized for dance music, floor monitor use, speech or a flat Default setting. Additional high-pass filter settings allow using the CP12 with a subwoofer. With one twist of the Contour dial, you can achieve the perfect EQ for any application in seconds.
Road-Ready and Built to Last
Designed from the ground up for life on the road, the CP12's molded enclosure is rugged yet lightweight. The trapezoidal shape minimizes size while providing stability, and the durable finish protects against scratches and scuffs during transport and handling. Input connections include balanced XLR, 1/4" TRS, and 3.5 mm TRS, with a locking power cable to prevent accidental disconnection. With its unparalleled combination of portability, power and reliability, the QSC CP12 is the ultimate powered speaker for performers and sound providers on the move.

Fantastic for the weight and price!
My pair of (original) QSC K12's have have performed flawlessly for my solo sax with backing tracks act for years. However, I'm now on the wrong side of 50, and hoisting them up on poles and schlepping them in out of my trunk has been murder on my lower back. I hit the advil hard the next day! I was always hoping that QSC would put technological advances over the past few years into a revised K12 with *lighter weight* for the same power (instead of more power for the same weight in the K12.2). And lo, they come out with the CP12. 30 lb vs 42 lb may not sound like much, but when you have disc problems in lower back, it is. Due to the lower price, I was concerned about the quality, so I lugged in one of my K12s into Guitar Center and did a side-by-side sound comparison between my K12 and the CP12, using some of my jazz and commercial karaoke backing tracks. Listening to the CP12, it sounded really rich like I was used to with my K12s, and was not trebly or tinny like Mackie or EV. I could certainly crank it to as loud as I'd ever use at one of my gigs (e.g. wedding cocktail hour, private residence party, nursing home). When I played on my K12, I could nevertheless tell that the K12 sound was a tad richer. The bottom line is that to me, the CP12 gives me 100% of the volume I'd ever need, ~90% of the K12 sound quality at 71% of the K12 weight, at only 62% of the K12 price. Their smaller size frees up extra room to keep my speaker stands, mic/cable bag, and my axes (my entire act) all concealed in the trunk of my Corolla as well, instead of some gear visible to thieves in the back seat. If money and weight are no object, then invest in a pair of K12s. They WILL sound a smidge better and will give you more power. However, for what I and other mellower acts need, and for those on a budget, the CP12 is fantastic for the price and the weight, and why I give them five stars. I'll keep my K12s for those gigs (e.g. outdoor) where I absolutely need the added power.

Something literally burned out inside
I pushed this speaker to a reasonable volume (enough to fill a medium sized room) with music through an AUX chord, then a few seconds later I smelled burning and the whole unit became very hot. I played the exact same song at the exact some volume through a QSC K8.2 and it handled it like a champ and even went louder with no apparent malfunctions. The CP series is a bit of a let down, definitely not up to usual QSC standards. QSC should discontinue this line up, fix it, offer it for cheaper, or sell it under a different name. These speakers really cut through the mix and stand out nice and clear! Much cleaner than prior speaker brands! #Sweepstakes forever! Nothing we have used in the past come close. The crossovers are the best in this price range in my experience. They are also lightweight for easy transport without sacrificing power. QSC is best!

I bought this as an addition to be primarily used as monitor. I've been able to use this as primary sound for small venues. It's light enough to carry, doesn't clip quickly, feel great.

These are my backup speakers to my K12.2. With that said, I am impressed with the clarity and bass that comes out of these. My modeler (from guitar) also sounds great through these when I need additional reinforcement for my band practices. Overall great speaker and investment.
I am already considering buying my third pair! :)

Can I plug an AUX cable directly into this speaker?
I’m very sorry. Your question is not clear. It has inputs for a XLR and 1/4" TRS. AUX isn't a type of cable.submitteda year ago
