Description

PreSonus' AudioBox USB 96 25th Anniversary Edition audio interface offers an all-in-one solution for recording vocals, instruments and more with professional quality. Perfect for home studios and mobile setups, this ultra-portable interface features two combo XLR/TRS inputs to connect mics, instruments and line-level gear. Versatile I/O for Vocals, Instruments and MIDI

The AudioBox USB 96 comes with a license for PreSonus' Studio One Artist 6 DAW, which offers an intuitive interface, powerful editing tools, virtual instruments and drag-and-drop functionality for fast and creative recording. Over 6GB of third-party plug-ins are also included, providing EQs, compressors, reverbs and more to enhance your mixes.

Great replacement for Midiman Anni 2 x 2 and CL sound card

My application is a dedicated MIDI/audio interface for a VirTual Theater Pipe organ. A MIDIfied console from an actual 1920's Theater pipe organ drives a complex MIDI switching system which in turn drives a sample player. MIDI information is transferred to and from the console, utilizing the USB 96. The audio from the sample player is also output to reverb and power amps via the USB 96, so it has a lot of work to do. The USB 96 never misses a beat with 8-channel two-way MIDI as well a very clean audio stream duplicating all the complexities of a WurliTzer theater organ. The unit replaces both a MidMan Anniversary 2 x 2 which would occasionally give MIDI glitches and a Creative Labs sound card, a necessary move when organ operations were transferred from a desktop to a laptop and from Win7 to Win10. Installation was seamless, and the unit performs perfectly in its application. It works so well, I got a second one for music production on my DAW, which is also used for sample processing for the organ. These devices are rock solid.

Class compliant driver on macOS, but not exactly.

Bought this interface to add inputs and additional MIDI channels. The Presonus driver is labeled as "class compliant" under macOS, but it takes over all audio on a system, so all Presonus or nothing. This box is for very limited applications for beginners I guess. Not much you can do with only 2 in/out channels. That said, it's a very affordable solution for the most basic applications, not built for anyone but a simple hobbyist or podcaster. #sweepstakes

    Did not work for me. I have an HP, windows 11. Newer pc's have USB 3 (blue ports), older ones have USB 2 (white or black). I bought it for the midi ports. My PC wouldn't recognize it, like wifi options in and out on your cellphone. Bought a midi to USB and solved issue my Scarlett.

  • Beware of the USB cable it comes with & the mixer.

    I would not recommend this product. It uses a cheap USB type A to type B (Which is the same as what a printer uses.) The type A end will disconnect from the computer if you slightly move it, and has developed a ticking on recording. The mixer on input blocks all sound except input.

    Can this be used in combination with something like Positive Grid - Bias FX2 on the computer to play live? I assume the setup would be plug guitar into this interface, interface to computer, computer uses Bias FX2 to add effects, computer pushes audio back to the interface, interface outputs to amp/pa?

    I have a tascam 2488 24 track digital recorder that is probably 10 years old but works like new. I am not familiar with how midi instruments work. But there is a Midi in and out on this recorder. Would I be able to purchase a midi keyboard and connect it through this interface and have it work with my tascam to add extra instruments to my songs?

    I am wanting to record my music on my laptop. Does this include studio one software so that ,excluding a microphone, this is all I need for my recordings?

    It does come with the studio one software so all you would need is cables and a mic.
