Description
MESA/Boogie Fillmore 25 Combo Main Features
- 18 watts (clean), 23 watts (max), 2 channels with included footswitch
- Two 6V6 power tubes, five 12AX7 preamps
- Tube-driven reverb, fully buffered series FX loop
- 12", 8-ohm Celestion Custom 90 speaker
Versatile with Vintage Voices
Named after the iconic venues in New York and San Francisco, the Fillmore is full of classic sounds. It packs a pair of 6V6 power tubes with 23 watts of output. Of course, 6V6 were the tubes-of-choice in the ’50s and ’60s, and the Fillmore lets you exploit both of those eras, and then some. This two-channel combo offers three drive levels with independent controls for each channel. CLEAN mode has chiming highs; you can also up the gain for blackface-style breakup. DRIVE mode moves from clean to saturated while still retaining the top end. HI mode maximizes sustain and compression—think ’70s crunch rhythms and ’80s leads, American-style.Spring Reverb and FX Loop
The Fillmore 25 incorporates an all-tube, long-tank spring reverb with independent controls for each channel. It also has a fully buffered series effects loop for easy adjustment of send and return levels; you'll also be able to mix the dry and effected signal without any worries of phase cancellation.Custom Celestion speaker
MESA outfits the Fillmore 25 combo with a 12" Celestion speaker made in the U.K. The Black Shadow Custom 90 has ample headroom with a smooth top end. Bass tones are tight and focused.Solid Construction
MESA/Boogie builds the Fillmore combo to combat the rigors of the road. It is made of marine-grade Baltic birch and is fully tuned to accentuate the tone of the amp.A reverb footswitch and cable are available separately.

Great channel switching amp; a little boxy but the weight is manageable.

I sort of took a chance on this amp since I had never played it in person, but I could not be more pleased! I notoriously do not like some amps that others rave about when I actually get to spend some time plugged in, but this amp has all the qualities that I look for: it is sparkly without being harsh, feels very alive and present, extremely good bass response without getting flubby, sounds bigger than its cabinet, and covers all overdrive territory from the most touch sensitive sweet breakup to full on classic rock roar. I wouldn't plan on this being your deep chug metal amp or anything, but nobody would be looking at this amp for that purpose anyway. Also, about the on-board reverb, I just think it goes from too little to too much too quickly. Maybe if it had a dwell control or something, but as it is right now, I turn the knob just until I hear the first hint of 'verb and that setting works. Any more than that and it feels weird to me. Also, if I'm dreaming, I'd love to see a tremolo on an amp in this style. Nothing goes better with those ethereal cleans than a gentle trem pulsing along. Anyway, the amp is phenomenal and takes pedals better than anything I've ever used, so plug in your board with a boost stage/boosted EQ (or two), a good reverb and a good tremolo, and you're set for tonal bliss!
Love it!

Great clean tones - not vintage sounding to my ear but sweet, chimey and clear as a bell. And killer drive tones with or without a pedal. Loves my J Rocket Archer. Couldn't be more pleased with this great little amp.

Grabbed this one over the 50 watt version because it's more compact, doesn't sound boxy, and is loud enough to keep up with a band. Classic sounding amplifier. If you're looking for a Recto flame thrower this isn't your amp. Reminds me of classic Santana sounds from the 70's. Clean channel is sparkly, round, and beautiful. I bought it mostly for the clean channel, but the drive channel is also stellar. Throw a pedal in front and you've got 80's and 90's rock. Each channel is exactly the same so you can have 2 cleans or 2 types of gain if you prefer. I run one channel clean and the second channel dirty. Adding pedals for additional dirt options. The reverb is good but not over the top. If you want to sound like the Ventures it'll get you there. It's just a strong all arounder. Again if you want to melt faces look elsewhere. If you want classic sounds with a Boogie feel in a compact package this is your amp.
