The NEW Marshall Drivemaster & Guv'nor Overdrive Pedal Reissues | Demo & Features

Vintage Reissue Pedals | Official Demo | Marshall

Description
Marshall is thrilled to reintroduce The Guv'nor, a painstaking reissue of the legendary overdrive pedal from 1988. Guitarists everywhere sought the original for its ability to impart Marshall's signature cranked-amp tone in a compact stompbox. The Guv'nor rebirth brings that hallowed overdrive back to life with stunning accuracy.
Iconic Marshall Drive and Dynamics
The Guv'nor faithfully recreates the smooth, compressed overdrive that made the original a holy grail for guitarists. Its wide gain range covers bluesy edge-of-breakup grit to hard rock saturation. Unlike fuzzes or more modern distortions, The Guv'nor retains touch sensitivity and string clarity even at higher gain settings. The result is a dynamic, amp-like response that lets your playing shine through.
Built to Vintage Spec
From the pedal's familiar ribbed casing to the knobs' retro hues, every detail of The Guv'nor's design evokes the original. Inside, high-quality components and wiring provide the same tone and feel as the 1988 pedal. For Marshall fans and tone connoisseurs, such dedication to authenticity is paramount.
Simple Controls, Endless Tonal Possibilities
The Guv'nor's Drive and Volume knobs are all any guitarist needs to craft their perfect overdrive sound. Roll up the Drive knob for increasing gain and saturation. Use the Volume knob to balance the overdriven signal with your amp's clean tone. The Guv'nor also stacks exceptionally well with other effects, opening up more tonal avenues to explore.
Roadworthy and Ready to Rock
Housed in a heavy-duty metal chassis, The Guv'nor is built to withstand the rigors of the road. It runs on a standard 9-volt power supply for convenience anywhere. For overdrive that defined a generation and still shapes rock music today, look no further than The Guv'nor.

As distortion/crunch pedals go, this is a great one. I'm running it through a Fender Twin '65 reissue (tube) amp, and it has near-Marshall tone. I gave it four stars, because it doesn't quite measure up to the tone of a Marshall head through a 2x12 cab.

I'm wondering if this is a re-issue of this pedal. I tried one @ GC years ago & loved it. I remember how fantastic it sounded. Going back a few years later to buy one at GC, it wasn't available.
Yes.
