Ibanez

Description

You don't need to spend a fortune to get a good-looking, easy-playing, great-sounding bass guitar. The Ibanez GSR200SM is a prime example. You get a rock solid maple neck with jatoba fretboard, a mahogany body with maple top, quality pickups and electronics and an attractive finish that will instill a real pride of ownership. It is a well-made bass, with all of the refinement and design excellence that come along with any Ibanez product.

The Ibanez DXH-5 pickups are broad in terms of response and have great dynamic range. Add to that the dual volume controls and the tone control, and you get a wide selection of available tones. Kick in the Phat II active bass boost and you add a low-end presence that rocks, funks and swings like you want it to.

The Ibanez inspection and setup process is among the best in the industry, and your GSR200SM bass will arrive ready to play right out of the box.

Good Entry Level Bass To Learn On

This is a great looking bass that I purchased to learn on. It's got a good feel to it, solid electronics, nice sound for the price. As I'm a beginner, I can comment extensively on technical aspects, however the main reason I took away 2 stars is that when I attempted to down tune it (I wanna play doom, stoner, sludge metal) I ended up getting fret buzz on the first fret which was rather disappointing. It may be able to be fixed if I take it into the shop or to a luthier. For now am happy to practice on it as is. Overall, I would recommend this as a great entry level bass.

I like the size of the neck but it's like it is unfinished.

I got this as my first bass and first guitar. Mine had some high frequency noise which was able to be tuned out with the EQ. I had to spend a ton of work on the neck and bridge after getting it but nothing too difficult. Still can't get the lowest action but it is playable. Fret Buzz was a major problem but I was able to pin point it to a poorly cut nut.

Just picked up this bass yesterday, great instrument. I just needed to raise the action a little to take away some lower fret buzzing. Definitely great for beginners, the frets aren't to far apart so it's easy on new hands.
