Super good mic system

I bought it to use with my nylon classical at an outdoor wedding. I did not want to drill holes for a bridge pickup. Didn't want to try to use a condenser mic. You know; clamp a mic, buy a battery powered (phantom) preamp, wind... This thing works unbelievably great. Case in point - I initially used a Twin Reverb to test it. haha. Instant howling feedback... until I pressed the Feedback button. Very impressive. I do have to say I have now bought two units as the first unit did not output any sound. Ever. Out of box failure.

Nice, but no cigar

Bought to plug onto Eastman mandolin. The body was too thick to easily accept the microphone clip. The "cable" running from the mic to the endpin was very thin--thinner than my inexpensive earphones- and very long. I worried about its sturdiness. Have had other issues with wires thicker than this on adapter plugs going bad after lots of use. The control box didn't work very well on the thin mandolin strap. Okay, I could have bought a thicker mando strap, if that had been the only negative. Putting the instrument on and taking it off was not easily accomplished with all the wires and connections to think about. Turning it off and on while plugged in sounded like removing and inserting the cable through the speakers. I think for recording purposes it would work great. Unfortunately, I don't need another microphone to record it with. The features on the box were nice, but not nice enough to warrant me keeping the unit. I marked that I would recommend it to a friend, but with qualifications.

Got this for guitarists who come to play don't have pickups. Even with a real-time computer controlled EQ, it's still prone to serious feedback as you try to get it to good volume. For an amateur wanting a pickup - a nice easy solution, For pros - I wont use this again.

i USED THIS FOR A GIG WHERE I USED MY 1947 MARTIN 000-18. WORKED LIKE A CHARM! GUITAR SOUNDED GREAT! THE TONE WAS REALLY NICE AND THE FEEDBACK BUTTON WORKED NICELY. THIS IS A GREAT ITEM FOR AN INSTRUMENT THAT DOES NOT HAVE A PICKUP BUILDT IN.

I play a classical guitar in jazz style. This device retains the true tone of my guitar, just louder, and the feedback elimination system works very well. I am incredibly impressed.

I have used it maybe three times. It sound just like the natural guitar unplugged. I plug into a Fishman loud box mini and it's a great sound. I wish the Fishman had more volume but it gets by. I haven't tried going through an iPad yet. Maybe it will preamp a bit more volume. I'm not sure it will even work.

My tenor ukulele came with a pickup installed. My baritone ukulele did not. The IRig works great in the baritone and hooks up easily with my amplifier.

I've never been able to get this product to work. It sits in a drawer and I couldn't be more unhappy with the company's customer support. Before buying anything from IK Multimedia, go to their message board and search "no sound". The number of times this comes up and the lack of meaningful answers should tell you all that you need to know. Maybe on a Mac this stuff works better, but on a PC it is a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and skip this stuff. I gave this one star because zero stars isn't allowed.
