TONEX ONE mini guitar pedal - Overview

TONEX ONE sound demo

Description
The IK Multimedia TONEX One modeling amp and distortion effects pedal takes the acclaimed amp, cab and effects modeling of the larger TONEX pedal and condenses it into an ultracompact format perfect for crowded pedalboards. With its incredibly small footprint, the TONEX One lets you stack as many high-quality tones as you need without sacrificing precious real estate. Whether you need pristine cleans, scorching overdrive or anything in between, the TONEX One delivers hyper-realistic sounds to take your rig to new heights.

Dual Modes for Maximum Flexibility
The TONEX One is primed for any live situation with its dual operating modes. Dual preset mode gives you two fully independent tones accessible via footswitch, like a two-channel amp. Load up a sparkling clean and a high-gain lead tone for seamless transitions. On/off mode turns the TONEX One into a traditional stompbox for individual drive, fuzz or boost tones. With the ability to store up to 24 total tone models across eight banks, the sonic possibilities are staggering for such a tiny pedal.

Hyper-Realistic Tones With Machine Modeling
The heart of the TONEX One is IK's groundbreaking AI Machine Modeling technology. This advanced process meticulously recreates the behavior of real-world amps, cabs and effects down to the finest details. Every nuance and dynamic response are captured for stunningly lifelike tone. Play models of iconic amps like the Marshall Plexi or Fender Deluxe Reverb. Load up classic stompboxes like Tube Screamers or Big Muffs. With the TONEX One, you can assemble a rig comprised of the most legendary gear without compromise.

Endless Tones With ToneNET Integration
While the TONEX One comes loaded with dozens of ready-to-play amp, cab and effect models, you can exponentially expand your tonal palette by tapping into IK's ToneNET ecosystem. Connect to a computer via USB-C and access over 25,000 additional tone models shared by IK and users worldwide. You can also upload your own custom creations for use in the TONEX One. With such a vast and ever-growing library at your fingertips, you'll never run out of fresh, inspiring sounds to explore.

Customizable for Your Pedalboard Style
A clever design touch lets you customize the look of the TONEX One's micro control knobs to match your pedalboard aesthetic. Choose from 10 vivid colors like red, green, blue and more to make specific pedals easy to identify at a glance. This simple but brilliant feature really shines when you stack multiple TONEX Ones, letting you instantly see which controls adjust your drive, fuzz, EQ or other tones. With its ultracompact size and customizable look, the TONEX One integrates flawlessly into any pedalboard.
For guitarists seeking the most realistic amp and effects tones in a space-saving format, look no further than the IK Multimedia TONEX One modeling amp and distortion effect pedal. With its dual modes, machine modeling and ToneNET access, it packs an entire rig's worth of legendary sounds into a pedal that fits in the palm of your hand. Amp sounds are terrific! Love this thing!!
At this point, I use this as my bedroom practice amp through headphones or line out into a JBL 20 watt speaker and I downloaded the interface for Logic Pro. The simulations I can download and use are very good and I can switch them out at any time. Right now I have two fantastic fender amp sounds on the pedal. I rarely want to change those. They are like two high end amps in a box. I really want to push this and see if I can switch out my heavy tube amps by getting a Tonex or Fender FRFR amp as I am questioning if that'll work or not. Will it feel the same and push the air? What FRFR do I get? The tube amps I have are awesome but heavy. If it did work I could sell my expensive heavy tube amps and save my back on its pain after every gig. I'm an older musician now and tube amps are causing back pain. So far I'm giving it 5 stars for the tones. We shall see if my ultimate plan works out. But as a studio and writing tool it's been a huge step up from the amp sounds in Logic Pro. It destroys the line six pod express pedal. I sold that a while back. I couldn't find one sound that worked. This thing is a gem for the price. Software has some learning curves but worth it. The downloadable sounds from the community are better than the company generated amp sims. Find your fave and rock them!!! Works so well with a HX One.

Love the Tonex platform, but just meh on the Tonex One
I am a big fan of the Tonex (and Amplitube) platform(s). I like the size and price of the Tonex One but not loving the pedal, I am struggling to figure out how I am going to use this pedal. I recommend looking into the Tonex Pedal or the Tonex Plug. I have a Tonex Pedal as well and love it, this is far more difficult to use as a stand alone pedal (not bad if connected to a computer and controlling it through the software. Bought this a week before the Tonex Plug and I am contemplating returning this for either s Tonex Plug or a used Tonex Pedal, If I keep it, I will likely just load some pedal captures onto it and use it infront of my Tonex Pedal, but for a basic down and dirty (snd inexpensive) practice tool the Tonex Plug looks to be a better option. I am not saying don't buy this, just saying do your research into what is the best option for your specific needs, also keep in mind what it comes with on the software side when considering price/value to you. The doftware this comes with is a but limited where as the Tonex Pedal has a lot more software with it, for me the software is not a factor.

This exceeded my expectations. The tones are great and the editor makes using the pedal that much easier.
