Gibson

Description

Introduced in 1990, the '57 Classic provides warm, full tone with a balanced response, packing that classic Gibson Patent Applied For humbucker crunch. They are made to the same specs as the originals, including Alnico II magnets, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs and maple spacers.

This '57 Classic humbucker shares all the same specs and construction details as the original ’57 Classic, but features 4-conductor wiring for more tonal options. You can split the coils and give your Gibson precisely the vintage sound you're looking for. The ’57 Classic humbucker features balanced coils for a smoother, creamier tone and excellent hum cancelation. The pickups are also wax potted to remove all internal air space and any chance of microphonic feedback.

In operation since 1935, the Gibson Pickup Shop is paying homage to its past by offering the Original Collection. The '57 Classic 4-conductor humbucker offers the same specs as the Classic 2-conductor models, but with wiring that allows coil splitting. Now you can get that full, rich and creamy vintage sound with an available single-coil tone. Potted to diminish microphonics and stress on the pickup wires. They are crafted in Nashville, Tennessee.

I have put '57 Classics in a few of my guitars, always with great results. Warm, smooth and balanced. It sings like an angel for solos above the 12th fret. The coil-splittable version gives you the option of having almost a Tele neck pickup sound.
