Really great product!
This case is replacing one made by GigSkinz and, to me, there is no comparison! The bottom panel and sides are all solid, providing much more support and protection, yet it doesn't really feel any heavier! In addition to the wheels and handles, it has ABS skid strips on the back so that it doesn't get all ripped up if you wheel it up a curb or step (great idea!). The straps inside are much bigger, and really well padded. The outside pocket is smaller, but it has great little inside pockets for pens, business cards, picks and strings (if you play guitar also, as I do) etc. The zippers are always the big question with any soft case, and while these seem to be pretty heavy duty, I'll be curious to see how they hold up a year or two down the road. Gator does warranty their stuff for life though and, unlike many (most?) companies today, they were great when I called them about another product. So over all, I'm really happy with it.

Pros and Cons
Overall I believe that Gator makes a great product. Let me give you my take on this case. The case is made to protect wider, 61-key keyboards. The inner straps add great holding protection and they are padded as well. This case seems like it will definitely defend your instrument from any bangs and bruises. The issues that I counter, which caused me to have to return it are: 1.) even with the wheels, that case adds weight and the lifting and pulling the keyboard are bit harder because it is now heavier. 2.) if you are a shorter person the the handle for pulling the keyboard case is in a akward position. It resides at the top of the case once the case is standing upright. Also, this handle is screwed in instead of sewn and I've seen cases where the handle has become detached from being pulled. So just be careful if you decide to buy it. 3.) The case is a bit bulky because of its attempt to add a great protection layer between the keyboard and outter elements. the keyboard would not fit in my trunk. It was too long to place in there and my trunk is very very spacious.

Works great as a pedalboard case!

Bought this as a custom pedalboard case for my son. He had been using another case until we found this. Fits great. Holds the board in well and doesn't move around when carrying it. I know it's meant for a keyboard and I am sure it works well for that as well.

This case is very sturdy considering it isn't a "hard" case. The keyboard and case together are quite heavy for me, but I'm able to rest it against the bed of my pickup and lift it up into it. I like that it's on wheels so I don't have to carry it like I do the other keyboard (that case doesn't have wheels). I don't live in an area that usually receives snow, so I can't comment on how well the wheels perform in snow.

I want to use it for a plane flight, will it work?
Not even close. It is not suitable for air travel. To the airline your instrument is nothing more than heavy baggage. You need a “flight case”. Please see "Road Runner Keyboard Flight Case with Casters".submitted3 years ago
