The Furman PL-Pro DMC Power Conditioner uses Furman's Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) and Linear Filter Technology (LiFT) to give you an advanced and comprehensive transient voltage surge suppressor.

Furman's maintenance-free SMP surge suppression virtually eliminates service calls. Traditional surge suppression circuits sacrifice themselves when exposed to multiple transient voltage spikes, requiring the dismantling of your system and repair of your surge suppressor. With Furman's SMP, voltages are safely absorbed, clamped, and dissipated. No sacrificed parts, no service calls, no down time.

Unique to Furman's SMP is its unparalleled clamping voltage. Unlike some series mode suppressors, Furman's maintenance-free feature is not at the expense of potential equipment failure. While other designs offer clamping voltages that are well above 300Vpk, Furman's SMP clamps at 188Vpk, 133 VAC RMS even when tested with multiple 6000Vpk - 3000 amp surges.

Over-voltage circuitry protects against open neutral wiring, or accidental connections to 208 or 240 VAC It immediately shuts off the incoming power until the over voltage condition is corrected.

LiFT (Linear Filtering Technology)
Traditional AC conditioners have been designed for unrealistic laboratory conditions. Prior technologies could actually harm audio and video performance more than they help, due to the resonant peaking of their antiquated, non-linear designs. Under certain conditions, these designs can actually add more than 10dB of noise to the incoming AC line. Worse still, lost digital data and presets, or destroyed digital converters are frequently caused by excessive voltage spikes and AC noise contaminating the equipment ground. Furman's SMP with LiFT takes another approach, ensuring optimal performance through linear filtering and no leakage to ground.

The PL-Pro DMC features dimmable LED rack lights that produce virtually no heat and provide an extremely long lifespan. A rear-mounted BNC jack accepts any standard (12VAC, 0.5A) gooseneck lamp for rear rack illumination, as well as a front-panel switch which controls the gooseneck's operation. A front-panel mounted master power switch is protected by a hinged cover, preventing accidental disconnection of AC power to the unit's outlets.

The PL-Pro DMC has a front-panel digital voltmeter, and the circuit breaker power switch can be quickly and easily reset should the unit be overloaded. It is equipped with a 10', 12-gauge heavy-duty power cable and also comes with a front-panel USB charger for small USB electronics.

Furman PL-Pro DMC Power Conditioner

By Sid Walters

from Winnetka, CA

Comments about Furman PL-Pro DMC Power Conditioner:

I am just now nearing completion of my investment into the components needed to present a high-end Karaoke show. I am quite familiar with Furman Power Conditioners. This is why I have chosen Furman over all others. I just have not yet assembled my rack system yet. My Furman Power Conditioner will be the single most important component in the rack. As with any live performance shows, there is a radical shift in power usage, constantly. Without a good power conditioner one is always at high risk of an embarrassing end of the show, not to mention the over 30K I have invested into the rack system alone. My Furman Power Conditioner will be places at the top of my rack to utilize its pop-out LCD lights. I am very excited to present my debut show, soon.

Comments about Furman PL-Pro DMC Power Conditioner:

It's ironic that DJ's will spend thousands on high-end electronics and then plug everything into a $10 power strip that offers no protection. I purchased this because I often do events that requires 20 amps of draw EX: outdoor movies, sweet 16's and school dances. I had a rack mount power strip but it did not offer the level of protection that the Furman PL PRO DMC does. This piece is very robust and well-built. It is on the heavy side and does add some weight to my rack, but I feel it's worth it. I recommend this for pro DJ's, musicians and even those with high-end home theatre setups.

Comments about Furman PL-Pro DMC Power Conditioner:

Replaced a 90's era PL Pro that was generating some noise in my equipment. The light tubes were the source. Never had the issue with my old analog Mackie mixer which was rack mounted directly below it, however the Behringer Xair picked up noise, even with balanced cables throughout the system.

      Things I like:
      1. USB front jack - convenient for powering my IPAD Air 2, which controls a Behringer Xair.
      2. The light tubes are fitted with LEDs and the dimming works. The LEDs are more than bright enough. No noise or heat generated from the lights.
      3. While I was fond of the LED array for showing voltage on my older PLPro, I like the amperage display feature on the new unit. Can also toggle between volts and amps.
      4. Still has a power outlet on the front.
      5. The rocker switch for powering on the unit is indented- great idea that prevents damage to the switch.

      Things I don't like.
      1. I liked the silver color light tubes on the older model. The tubes are black on the newer one. I removed them, stripped the finish and polished them.
      2. I liked the knurled aluminum light tube caps on the older model. I was able to swap the older ones onto the newer Furman.
      3. No option for colored bulbs, short of unsoldering the LEDs and replacing them. Maybe some round colored tubes might work.
