Furman

collapse expand iconDescription

The 15-amp Furman P-1800 AR delivers a stable 120 volts of AC power to protect audio equipment from problems caused by AC line voltage irregularities, such as sags, brownouts or overvoltages—all of which can damage sensitive electronic equipment. The P-1800 AR accepts input voltages over a wide AC voltage range and transforms it to a constant output of 120V, ±5V. Voltages beyond that range may also be converted to usable levels, depending on the range variance.

Additionally, the P-1800 AR is a full-featured power conditioner that filters and purifies AC power, reducing line noise and ensuring optimum performance. Not only will your equipment perform better with Furman's Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT), but it will also be fully protected by their exclusive Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) and Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS) technologies. This circuitry provides an extremely high level of power protection.

I use a Axe-lll and a Matrix power amp running in stereo. The sound is amazing as long as if you have the patience and imagination to understand this complex and new way of achieving your ultimate sound! Before this setup I was running the best rack with a stereo all tube Mesa boogie preamp and power Amp. Plus I had the best outboard effects which included Eventide, T.C. Electronics, Dbx, and Lexicon. I realized after playing live with this expensive rig that to have consistent performance I needed one more piece to seal the deal and that was a voltage regulator/ line conditioner unit. I bought the best which at that time was the Juice Goose Model 12. This took my rig to an 11! The same needs to be applied to my new and lighter rig. The Furman P-1800 Ar had 5 star reviews so I got one at my favorite Guitar Center. I knew if it didn't work out they would refund my purchase without any hassles. Well this unit took this rig to an 11! If you don't have one of these units you're not unlocking the real and full potential of your rig!

I am a professional guitar tech for a touring band that uses very old and very sensitive vintage amplifiers, keyboards, and guitars. During a summer tour of various ampetheaters, I found that the stage power in various arenas / amphitheaters/ festival stages (be it Red Rocks, The Forum, Lollapalooza, or any given amphitheater) was very inconsistent with noise, ground hum, electrical issues. I would often have to lift one amp, both amps, a keyboard, all depending on where my drop was at whatever venue. This unit has not only helped keep the power feeding the amps consistent every time, but now pedalboards and keyboard power are all running from the same supply and extended upstage. This is a VERY reliable well built unit. I love that it's a single rack space and has a digital voltage read on the front. Even a usb outlet! A solid investment in not only the tone of your amplifier but also life and longevity of your electronics. It's not the most glamorous purchase, but I consider it to be the glue that binds a very temperamental rig together night after night. I get a little more sleep at night knowing our power issues are under control in any setting. Buy one. Now.

I run stereo amps and also use effects for my guitar setup. I was having some serious ground loop issues and dirty power that I needed to attenuate for recording. I looked into Furman's products and stumbled across the P-1800AR. I decided to wing it and see what it could do. When it arrived, I powered it up right away and was blown away by how quite and clean my rig had become! It also protects my investments from any crazy power problems that could occur. This is the real deal and the Furman warranty is excellent! My only compliant is I wish the P-1800 AR had more isolated power banks for guitar amps. Very cool piece of gear though!
