Description
The Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue 40W 1x12" combo amp delivers boutique tube tone and eye-catching vintage style. Powered by three 12AX7 preamp tubes and two 6L6 power amp tubes, this 1x12" combo pumps 40 watts of rich sound through a custom Eminence speaker. Its dual-channel design provides a Normal channel with Bright switch, and Drive channel with independent Gain and Master controls, allowing you to craft sparkling clean tones or push the amp into smooth overdrive. An onboard spring reverb, effects loop, and three-band EQ provide even more tonal flexibility.
All-Tube Circuitry for Authentic Vintage Tone
The Blues Deluxe Reissue owes its harmonically complex tone to its all-tube design. The three 12AX7 preamp tubes and two 6L6 power amp tubes deliver the dimensional sound that has made tube amps legendary. From pristine cleans to saturated overdrive, this amp produces the dynamic response and buttery compression that only tubes can provide.
Dual Channels Provide a Range of Tonal Options
With its Normal and Drive channels, the Blues Deluxe Reissue offers two distinct voices. The Normal channel produces thick cleans, with a Bright switch to tailor high-end response. Switch to the Drive channel to unleash smooth, responsive overdrive perfect for blues, rock, and more. Independent Gain and Master controls on the Drive channel allow you to dial in the precise amount of drive and volume you need for any gig.
Built-in Spring Reverb and Effects Loop Expand Your Sound
Fender's signature spring reverb lends a sense of depth and space to your tone. Effects loop connectivity lets you patch in your favorite stompboxes and rack effects. Shape your sound even further with the three-band EQ, controlling bass, midrange and treble frequencies.
Vintage Styling With Modern Reliability
While the Blues Deluxe Reissue evokes the classic looks of Fender's tweed-era amps, it benefits from modern reliability and functionality. Its genuine tweed covering, chrome control panel and chicken head knobs provide vintage mojo, but this reissue also features a solid-state rectifier and modern wiring. A standby switch lets you mute the amp while tuning or swapping instruments.

Very Fine Amp
I have a Fender NOS Blues Jr. I read reviews of that amp that mentioned "boxy", but "good practice amp". Well, I had the same opinion of the Blues Jr. Plus I wasn't happy with the reverb. I looked around for a replacement. I spent several months researching the internet, going to different stores, etc. I had always noticed the Blues Deluxe but thought I could find something a little better for the same money or slightly more. Well, I decided to take the plunge. I brought it home and played my fairly new Gibson ES335 through it for a couple days. Impressive. Good tone, clear, not boxy, very good dirty channel. THEN I pluggged my Clapton Signature Blackie in and OMG!!!! I am in love!!! These two were made for each other. The only other amp I have had at home was an old Peavy 110 Envoy then the Blues Jr. so I don't have a lot of experience with other amps at home, but I am very happy with my purchase!!. The tones I hear through the Blues Deluxe are very pleasing. I don't know how I could be happier. OK, it is loud, but you have to actually play this amp. You have to use the volume control on your pedals and guitar. Just like how the old guys did 40 years ago. And we all love that sound!

So this amp is absolutely one of the best amps I have ever played, now saying that they are complete junk! I bought a brand new one from GC, and it took 4 times to try and turn on, also the reverb didn't work. So I took it back to GC and they couldn't get it to turn on. They ordered me a brand new amp. I got it home turned it on played for about 30 min, then the reverb went out and the amp squealed. So I shut it off and waited 15 min just to turn it on and have it happen again. I returned the amp back to GC to get a refund. So that's that 2 bad brand new amps. All though they look nice and sound great they are poorly made. If you can fine one that works maybe it would be worth it but if not save your money and buy a different amp or you will be paying twice what it's worth to fix it.

Love this amp, wish there was lacquered tweed option

I absolutely love this amp. The only improvement that I feel Fender should make is a lacquered finish over the tweed covering. I feel this amp is different in a few ways from its brother "hot rod deluxe". First off, I used to own the hot rod version of this amp and liked it but there were a few things that left me wanting more so to speak. The blues deluxe to my ear has what the hot rod deluxe is missing. The blues deluxe speaker is a bit slower to my ear which lends to a more vintage tone. The second channel has a good classic drive which is very useable. It seems to me that the hot rod deluxe had a bit more of a mid focused tone which is great but kinda lacks the vintage mojo that I was looking for. I am super happy with my purchase and will be applying shellac to the tweed as a barrier to dust and stains. It would be nice if Fender would take the extra step on the blues deluxe assembly line as they did with the rest of their tweed amps to add the laquered tweed finish.
Great amp for the price if you love cleans and/or blues

It's very loud. I knew I would need to tame the volume. I Installed speaker WGS British Lead 80w spkr. and replaced tubes V1 (5751) and V3 (12AU7). I owned one before and that tamed it then, and still does. It's beautiful, retro-looking, still LOUD, and rocks out.
Fender Tone at a not too crazy price.

Takes time and experimentation to dial in tones, but a great range of tones is available. Don't love the drive channel - prefer clean with pedals, especially a boost. Highly recommend something like JHS little black amp box thru FX loop if you are looking to get some OD in the clean channel at reasonable volume levels.

Why is the control panel reversed from the way that a Hot Rod Deluxe is set up? Seems odd to me. Also, is there any way to diminish the "hiss" that comes out of this amp when I'm not playing at volume settings above 5?
It's an odd design, and a frequently asked question but honestly I think it was just to be different. As for the hiss, I had a similar issue with a Fender amp I had a few years back. I swapped out the instrument cable and rearranged my pedalboard, which helped it out a bit. Another option would be to get a noise eliminator (pedal or rack-mounted, either will work.) but that would be a lot more expensive than swapping out the cable.submitted5 years ago

Hi, I am interested in this amp, and I was wondering If you would take a Peavey Vypyr tube amp with a Sanpera 1 foot controller in trade towards it. I like the Peavey, but it's to much for me to learn. I just need something simple like the Fender. Thanks.
You may take your amp to your local Guitar center and see if they will purchase it from you. Then you may use those funds to order your this ampsubmitted6 years ago
