Overview

Played on countless hit recordings, the mid-’60s Deluxe Reverb is a timeless Fender classic and one of the most indispensable workhorse guitar amps ever made. Moderately powered and producing a full, snappy and crystalline tone, the pedal-friendly ‘64 Custom Deluxe Reverb carries on that legacy with incredible vintage-style tones, thanks to its modified all-tube hand-wired AB763 circuitry. Featuring Bright and Normal channels, tube-driven spring reverb and tremolo on both channels, and 20 watts of output power, this is the
go-to amp for warm, clean tones and moderate breakup.

The cabinet that holds the 12” Jensen C-12Q speaker is crafted from solid pine for improved resonance and lighter weight, and features an extra-heavy textured vinyl covering and lightly aged silver grille cloth for a picture-perfect vintage look. Its versatility and durability make the ‘64 Custom Deluxe Reverb the amp you’ll want to take with you everywhere you go, even if you wind up stranded on a desert island.

Comments about Fender '64 Custom Deluxe Reverb 20W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I've had it about a week. Solid build quality, Normal and Bright channels sound fantastic. Tried a strat, tele, and Paul through it, and they all sound great. Vibrato and Reverb are tube driven, and sound great. Pedals go well with this amp. Fuzzes need more dialing in, but overdrives and distortions perform well (Maxon SD-9, OCD. Menatone Red Snapper, and Wampler Tumnus).

I've read some comments about price point, but since Fender is building these through the Custom Shop and hand-wiring them, as opposed to the reissues. Most boutique clones run the same price. Personally, I wanted an original 64/65 DR, but they cost about the same or higher, so I went for new, handwired with a warranty.

The combo is light and easy to carry. Plug and play, you're ready to go. Recommend.

Comments about Fender '64 Custom Deluxe Reverb 20W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

In my opinion, this amp is every bit as good as the pre-CBS amps we all love, with one forgivable exception: the tank reverb on the originals was much better. The easy and obvious workaround is to set the on-board reverb on 1 and play through an external reverb unit, preferably a tube-driven model with individually fine-tunable dwell, mix, and tone. Aside from that one small issue, the amp delivers absolutely face-meltingly gorgeous sound. Worth the money.
