Description

With its gorgeous maple top, the Epiphone SG Modern Figured—from the Inspired by Gibson Collection—puts a contemporary twist on a timeless design. A solid mahogany body and maple cap provide the singing sustain and articulate tone that the Solid Guitar (SG) is known for, and the Modern Figured model—with its unique pickup wiring—delivers a multitude of tones suited for any genre. With the SG Modern Figured, Epiphone has created a modern classic—a true workhorse for players who prefer iconic silhouettes with current-day playability.

Epiphone SG Modern Figured Top

Sleek Figured Maple Top

The SG Modern Figured starts with a solid mahogany body capped with a stunning 3/4" AAA figured maple top. Tonally, mahogany provides mellow, full-bodied richness, while the figured maple imparts an elegant, three-dimensional look, and a bit of sonic snappiness and clarity. The SG Modern Figured offers an ageless combination of tonewood, so you can approach any genre with a classic tonal foundation. Even more, the beautifully contoured body offers comfort during long rehearsals, gigs or studio sessions. Plug in and let the Epiphone SG Modern Figured come alive with vibrant, nuanced tone.

Epiphone SG Modern Figured Neck

Asymmetrical SlimTaper Neck

The SG Modern Figured by Epiphone features an asymmetrical SlimTaper neck profile that is slimmer on the treble side for slick soloing, while retaining enough thickness on the bass side for rhythmic riffing. This ergonomic design makes it easy to play fast licks up the neck, as well as open or barre chords down low. Combined with a contoured neck heel for unimpeded access to higher frets, you’ll find this guitar begs to be played. The tight-grained ebony fretboard further enhances playability with a smooth, quick feel. The SG Modern Figured sets a new standard for comfort that guitarists of all styles can appreciate.

Epiphone SG Modern Figured Pickups

Versatile ProBucker Pickups

A pair of ProBucker humbuckers dish out vintage, P.A.F.-style warmth, high-output growl and everything in between. With coil splitting, phase switching and a treble-bleed circuitry, the tonal options are nearly endless. Go from creamy neck tones to searing leads at the flip of a switch, and dial in shimmering single-coil sounds or massive humbucker roar. Whether you play blues, classic rock, metal or jazz, the ProBuckers serve up the ideal tone. The Epiphone SG Modern Figured lets you effortlessly expand your sonic capabilities.

Epiphone SG Modern Figured Hardware

Rock-Solid Hardware

The Epiphone SG Modern Figured is equipped with top-notch components designed for optimal functionality. Grover locking Rotomatic tuners provide precise and reliable tuning stability you can count on, while also making string changes a breeze. A Graph Tech nut facilitates liquid bends and optimal resonance, seating strings smoothly in their slots without the gritty feeling of lower-quality parts. Finally, a LockTone ABR bridge and stopbar tailpiece anchor your strings solidly for optimal transfer of vibration, helping the instrument bloom and sustain. With premium hardware, the SG Modern Figured excels on stage and in the studio.

Sporting striking looks, an ergonomic feel and endlessly versatile tone, the Epiphone SG Modern Figured puts a fresh spin on a classic design. Whether you crave vintage warmth, single-coil chime or modern high-gain fury, this impressive instrument delivers. Finish on body is excellent. Fretwork wasn't perfect, it was pretty good, but it is an Epiphone. I don't like the strap buttons that came with this thing. They are very pointy in an eye shape. Needed intonation adjusted. But other than that it is an excellent guitar.
