Digitech Whammy Ricochet

Digitech Whammy Ricochet

DigiTech

Description

The Whammy Ricochet effects pedal from DigiTech takes the popular Whammy pitch shifting effect and places it in a pedal with a small form factor. Instead of using a treadle to manipulate pitch bending rate, such as those found on traditional Whammy pedals, the Whammy Ricochet bends the pitch of the incoming note at a rate determined by the Shift and Return controls. Thanks to a true bypass design, your tone remains unaffected when the effect is bypassed. The Whammy effect can be turned on or off using the Footswitch, which can operate as a momentary or latching switch. The Trajectory LED ladder lights in sequential order to provide a visual indication of pitch shifting rate and direction.

This is a really fun pedal in a compact size. It works as advertised and sounds pretty good. Don't expect perfect pitch sifting (You can always pay a lot more for something a lot bigger) but it is great for the sound it produces.

  • Cool pedal and small foot print.

Love the small foot print and its versatility. The momentary switch and the separate rise and fall controls are very nice. I do miss a treddle though. Maybe digitech will make a mini version of their bigger whammy with a treddle. This is a very cool effect.

I've used competitors pedals for years, mainly Boss, and tried a Pitch Fork. I use it mainly for bass (99.9%) and for what I do the pedal is great. I've heard Boss "tracks" better, but with most of my playing being that of chording, on fretted and fretless (from F# to F) with even getting a great horn like sound when I need it, I have no complaints!

  • Worth the investment

I use this for bass from F to F# and it handled everything I throw at it just flawlessly!
