Introducing the Alesis Strike Pro Special Edition

Strike Pro Special Edition - Drum Battle Performance ft. Daniel McCrary and Isaiah Weatherspoon

Underoath "On My Teeth" Drum Playthrough w/Aaron Gillespie | Alesis Drums Chop Shop

Description
Alesis strikes a chord with drummers seeking a premium electronic kit that looks, feels and sounds like the real thing. The Alesis Strike Pro SE electronic drum set ushers in a new era of electronic percussion with an industry-first 20" kick drum, latest-generation mesh heads and the brand's most advanced module yet. The Strike Pro SE is designed to inspire, built to perform and destined to redefine your playing.
Full-Sized Kick Drum Provides Unparalleled Feel
The Strike Pro SE kick drum is a revelation, with its 20" size and acoustic-like response. Your feet will feel instantly at home, allowing seamless transition between electronic and acoustic kits. The kick drum's size and feel are unprecedented in an e-kit, delivering power, depth and dynamics that must be played to be believed.
Dual-Zone Mesh Heads Respond Like Never Before
Alesis ups the ante with next-generation mesh heads for the snare and toms that are faster, more natural and easier to play than previous generations. Their dual-zone design enables head and rim shots for added expression. Mesh heads provide an open, breathable surface for minimal stick rebound and realistic feel. They are also nearly silent, ideal for practice in close quarters.
Premium Cymbals Marry Feel and Control
The Strike Pro SE cymbal pads feature a thick, comfortable rubber covering for an ideal balance of response and playability. The 16" ride and 14" crashes are 3-zone, enabling edge, bow and bell shots, while the 14" hi-hat is movable for a traditional acoustic hi-hat feel. Cymbal pads are also exceptionally quiet, allowing for dynamic play at any volume.
Standard Sizes and Striking Looks
The Strike Pro SE shells come in standard 8", 10", 12" and 14" tom sizes, so you'll feel instantly at home behind the kit. With black hardware, gold tension rods and a unique mesh head design, this electronic set is a showstopper. The premium wood shells provide an acoustic vibe and allow direct head tension adjustment via the lugs.
NOTE: Hi-hat stand and kick pedal sold separately.

Exellent Set of eDrum - Realistic drum size and feeling
I have this set for a month by now. There was a couple miss trigger in the first week but issues were all taking care of by now. Basically, all I did is moving all the sliders (volume control sliders) on the control module up/down several times to clean the resistance contact. This is a very common problem for sliding control device and it is a typical practice in the electronic world to clean the devices by move them several times. I have been playing a couple hours every day since, no problem so far. I am glad that I made the decision to go with Elesis Stike Pro SE kit even though I had read several bad reviews about the older Strike pro model. However, many review also claimed that the broken sensor inside the drum head and miss trigger issues have been fixed for Special Edition Strike Pro version by Alesis with improvement sensor mounting plate and firmware updated to version 1.4 and higher. With that, I took my chance and purchased the Strike Pro SE because I love the appearance and the realistic size of this unit. Happy to find out my unit has the most updated firmware version 1.5. With that, I had remove the head of the Snare and Tom immediately after got the kit to see what type of improvement was done in the Special Edition kit. It sure looks a lot different and more solid than what I had seen in those pictures of the review about the of broken sensor plate for the tradition Strike Pro kit. I recommend Alesis should go on and advertise about the fix in the SE kit to clear up all the confusion for new buyer. Not too many buyer would take risk to purchase a kit with many bad reviews out there. Especially, the Strike Pro SE name is very much the same as Strike Pro that have problem out there. I think the SE version using the same drum shell but inside the drum head are loaded with new design and more rigid hardware. Alesis should call this a different model rather Special Edition version to the existing Strike set.

After the " new purchase" excitement wore off…
If you are a beginner, and haven't played other sets in this range, then maybe. But I am wholeheartedly disappointed. The triggers in the hi hats are not built for speed and blending of the tones. Snare and toms are just outside of hitting the accent ramp ups. The kick trigger is fine if you don't play double pedals…. I however do. And the Cymbals are not dynamic enough, you can't bring any of them to life with a slow build up. Very disappointed for the money I spent.

Great for a quiet setting (not disturbing anyone else). Triggers feel great out of the box and even better with minor adjustments to match power level and speed. Cymbals I'm not a huge fan of as the feeling and speed are not quite my flavor but can still be used as sound effects pads none the less. Would buy again but hope I don't need to.

So I bought this kit with hopes it would be better then the crimson 2. I bought it new and they send me a demo kit out of the store and charged me the same amount. . I called and this guy named Kevin told me that there's nothing they can do. Send it back he said. I have spent thousands at guitar center this year and they treat their customers like that? He didn't even try and help. I will never buy anything from here again.

I've owned three previous electronic kits over the past decade, along with an acoustic kit for most of my life. I have the need for an electronic kit because of my wife and neighbors. I was looking to upgrade and I finally pulled the trigger after a ton of research. Overall: Awesome!

I have played drums since I was in the 5th grade, you're talking YEARS of experience here from BOTH rock and Metal. I'm in my 30s now, I tested this kit at my local guitar center, my hands hurt after playing, this NEVER happened to me before, NOT even starting out in grade 5.
These are very nice and a great value!

I have beat the heck out of these for a few months now. They are excellent. Sound quality is very good. Triggers work well and I can easily get different volumes out of them with different inputs, feel is very good. There was an issue with the ride being too sensitive, but with a quick adjustment of the trigger sensitivity from 70 to 50 it is resolved completely. I have never been happier with a drum set purchase. These do exactly what I wanted. I am a drummer of 30 years who now plays in the garage only, I have connected these to the PA and I see no reason why I wouldn't use these live. Get them, you'll love them!

I have electric drum from Simmons brand and it's a regular basic set, I really like this drum set and it is catagoried under electric drum but the kick and toms looks like a acoustic drum. I live in an apartment and I always can play my electric drum because when I hit the toms and kick it does sound like a light tapping! Is this drum set would be the same or it needs the room to be soundproof?!
While it certainly isn't acoustic, that kick will make noise.submitted6 years ago
