The cymbal section is equally robust, with a 12" hi-hat controlled by a dedicated pedal, two 12" crash cymbals with choke functionality and a 14" triple-zone ride for complex playing techniques. Mounted on a premium 4-post steel rack with a double-braced snare stand, the kit stays rock solid, even during intense playing sessions.

Hey, I wanted to give this five stars bc I have had this for 3 days and I'm loving it I've moved it around a lot and it has never broken on me! Only downside is it's a lil bit of a pain to set up and I recommend taping the cord for the high hat to the actual base so u don't experience and get any cutting in the audio

  • Love this!

Absolutely wonderful electric kit for practicing at home and cover band bar gigs. Highly customizable samples, great feel, awesome features. I've been playing drums for 30+ years. This fit my budget and exceeded my expectations. The multi-zone snare is great to play on and natural feeling. The 3 zone ride gives me exactly what I'm looking for to match the feel of an actual ride cymbal.

  • I am loving the Crimson 3. It is so much fun.

I played drums for about 30 years but I have not played for the last 25 years. It has been so good to start drumming again. YouTube is great. So much content on drumming. I highly recommend the Crimson 3. I did add another floor tom which I am loving.

Tried Roland and Alesis rebound was better. High-hat pedal underwhelming and unreliable. Pro-level rack hardware. Details of kits and trigger programming non-existent. It will take some time to figure it out. Very good experience, fun to play, good value for money, except for terrible documentation.

So I mainly use this kit to practice and to record. I take my acoustic kit to shows. This kit has been amazing the last month I've had it. Once I got it tuned it I couldn't ask for a better set around the same price. For 1k this is def the set to go with.

Is this kit compatible with a traditional hi hat set up like a Lemon 14" hi hat?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
Compatibility Overview Hi-Hat Controller: The Crimson III includes a continuous variable hi-hat pedal, supporting open, half-open, closed, "chick," and "splash" sounds. Lemon HHC14 Features: This hi-hat comprises two 14" cymbals with an advanced motion sensor on the bottom hat, allowing for expressive play and smooth transitions between various positions, closely mimicking an acoustic hi-hat. User Feedback: Users have reported successful integration of the Lemon HHC14 with Alesis Crimson kits, noting responsive triggering and authentic feel. Setup Tips Connection: Use the provided 1/4" TRS cable to connect the Lemon hi-hat to the hi-hat input on the Crimson III module. Calibration: Adjust the hi-hat settings within the module to fine-tune sensitivity and ensure accurate response across different playing dynamics. Physical Setup: Ensure the top cymbal does not rest on the spring mechanism; maintain a gap of approximately 1/2" to 5/8" between the top and bottom cymbals to facilitate proper open/close transitions and splash detection.

Can this set be folded and stored away like the Alesis nitro max

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
It's not designed to be folded easily — usually requires more disassembly to store. The Nitro Max is more portable and easier to fold/store than the Crimson III.

I noticed on the back of the module it says Tom 4 and crash 2 so those 2 slots in the back of the module are only for the expansion pieces? And if that's the case where do I plug in the rest of the pieces ?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
    1) Yes. 2) The rest of the kit all connect through the multi-pin cable snake that comes with the drum kit. This cable has a DB-25 style connector (big rectangular plug) that goes into the module, and then it splits out into labeled 1/4" TRS cables that connect to each pad and cymbal. Each cable is clearly labeled (e.g., "Snare," "Tom 1," etc.) to help with setup. Main drum pads = connect via the labeled cable snake to the large input on the back of the module. Tom 4 / Crash 2 jacks = extra 1/4" inputs for optional expansion pads.

Can a fourth tom be added?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
A fourth tom can be added to an Alesis Crimson III drum kit using the 1/4" Dual-zone connection on the back of the kit. The input is labeled Tom 4, but any sound can be assigned to it.
