Open Box Aguilar Tone Hammer 350 Bass Amp Head Level 1

The Tonehammer 350 is a tasty vintage inspired amp who's performance belies it's compact size. The closest thing I've heard to a tube amp w/o the worry of tubes. A rich, harmonic midrange allows this amp to speak well in the mix. Powerful EQ negates any need for an external unit. At a 4ohm load with good speakers this amp plays quite loudly. I use it with two 2x10" cabs and it's great! I owned the TH500 beforehand and prefer the 350. It's fan is quieter, it's smaller and almost as loud as the 500. (Only 1.5db difference). It's plenty of power for my needs.

If you have never owned a class D amp, I highly suggest paying attention to this review. I bought this amp solely on reviews as none were available in the local GC. If you DO NOT like to FEEL the sound of your bass...then this amp is for you. This amp lacks GIRTH! It is weak and feeble. I bought this amp to take place of my older Ampeg B2R. My ampeg is not even a higher dollar SVT series head...just a B2R and it wipes the floor with this measly class D amp. I highly suggest you not waste your money like I did.....I am extremely disappointed in this amp (It's going back) and the reviews it gets cause these class D amps are weak...go ahead and try one head to head and you will see a BIG difference. I will not sacrifice tone for weight and if you heard them next to each other you would not either. Keep shopping! Better yet, demand companies stop selling these class D junk amps.....the weight is not worth the tone. I now see why so many reviews show little to no EQ adjustment on this amp ( usually reviewing flat)....cause it don't have much to speak of. Little bottom end and lacks high end. The Drive knob goes from not enough to too much ...no sweet spot and not very practical sound-wise....just a gimmick in my opinion. Do not let others persuade you into believing this amp or even the 500 watt version is loud because it has NO headroom what-so-ever! Do not get me wrong here...I am not against just Aguilar here...I tried an Ampeg Portaflex 500 watt head and it sounded about the same...weak, with NO Girth!

Is an amazing bass amp, I'm running it with an ashdown 2x10 and sounds incredible, has a simple eq section but is very effective. Sounds clear and deep, If you can't afford an expensive amp from Aguilar y recommend this one for you, I have been user of Ampeg but I hear the aguilar sound more creamier than ampeg's sound. There's just a little problem It hasn't an fx input, so you gotta run your effects by the main input.
