Finally Can Use All Keyboards At Once

Despite being an 'On-Stage' stand I set it up for use in my studio. It is exactly what I was looking for to gather all my synths and modules onto one workstation. I ended up adding/building custom shelves for the stand rather easily using basic pre-finished 48inch shelves from the hardware store. In fact each arm had 2 holes on it already so you could adjust how far out you wanted each to stick which made securing one to the shelve and one to the bar/stand a breeze. Shelves took about 2-3 minutes each to install. Very easy to adjust heights and angles of the arms/shelves. Its not the strongest material being that its all plastic but it is lightweight for those looking to bring it on the road. Can lift the whole unit with one hand. With that being said I must say the stand itself is actually pretty sturdy and does not shake or wobble in the least bit. Only reason I did not give 5 stars was one of the brackets that holds the screw was kind of stripped/warped so it took a bit to get the last screw in place. Otherwise standard set up took less then 5 minutes to assemble and like I said extremely easy to adjust to your liking.

Finally

Searched for days for something like this. The price point and FREE shipping made me buy it as it looked good on the web site BUT when arrived and put it together my excitement fell a notch.1. great idea for the grooves (to lock the hook-rods where you actually place the keyboard) as well as the secondary stabilizers on each side BUT you can't swing these hook-rods left/right. They are screwed on at 90 degree angle, making transportation and use for LIVE gigs virtually useless. 2. otherwise easy and FAST set up 3. the plastic used to tighten the tubes on each side could have been made with better plastic.(On my two screws were missing) Overall not bad for Made In China.

I had an Ultimate Support A-Frame stand back in the 80's which included a carry bag for transport to gigs. It seems impractical to take this one apart and re-assemble it multiple times, as it is built differently, BUT, as a triple stand for home practice, it's GREAT!

I think the Stand is pretty good overall. I have scene some of the complaints and just to further comment for futures buyers. The stand works pretty well. I think its made pretty good and well thought out but i did need to add some rubber washers in place to help support the closers so it doesn't break when tightening. "Do not over tighten". i would say you shouldn't overload this with three very heavy boards. The way its made you can have a heavy board on the lowest level, a medium board on the second and would just use light weight stuff on the top. Needless to say this is common sense when placing weight on a "A" frame. I wouldn't use for gigging unless you have the transport space to just be able to fold it and move it instead of taking it mostly. The fittings are not designed to take a bunch of loosening and tightening. So far I'm pretty please but I'm just using it for home studio. I think if i were to gig with this it would not last long. Home use only i would recommend. If this stand were to be upgraded to steel everything and thicker tubing i would be happy to pay more to get it and would use it live. its a good design but i just needs some more beef to it. Light weight isn't always the best thing.

This is perfect for my use. I did move the middle bar above the connection of the 2 upright bars. That was a more natural location for me. I added 2 support arms to the the top bar to hold 2 small synths. The rack is rock solid, more so than I thought it would be.

  • This thing is huge. Even for some who likes 'em big.

"On Stage"?, eh? Not at this size. Forget about getting a band on stage with this. You'll be lucky to get it out of the room you build it in. This thing is HUGE. Not just in the real estate it takes up, but the pieces, all seem a bit excessive. Functionally, it does what it needs to. And I'm happy with it. Just wish it had been given some simple features to make it a 5/5. Adjustable rods for the horizontal pieces would have made it much more convenient. Height is SORT of adjustable, if you're willing to risk the unit tipping over by adjusting the feet to be closer to eachother... but that will only make this thing taller. I'm 6 foot 1, the top shelf comes up to my chin!

  • Exactly what I needed!

This is the stand I should've bought from the beginning. It's light and very sturdy. I really needed the ability to adjust distance between the keyboards, so this A-frame design accomplishes that no problem. Use caution when tightening the hand screws - it can be hard to tell when they're fully tight and they will crack.
