I've been playing bass for many years but not professionally. I've played in both large and small venues and just enjoy playing anytime I get a chance. I play mostly gospel, southern gospel, western and blue grass music.

Very happy with the plugs themselves. One thing to note is they are not big enough for 14Ga cable. My wiring guy was able to make them work, but not an ideal situation. Second issue don't be a jerk and return a product you tried to use! I ordered 4 of these and one package had a small hole in it. Previous owner tried to sodder a purple wire to it, failed, put it back together and stuck it back in the packaging. Not blaming Guitar Center, the package looked fine, but the product had been used or attempted to be used.

I like the quality of this product. There is a plastic strain relief cable clamp inside of the metal housing and a plastic/rubber strain relief/boot on the outside. The metal is of good quality. The connection sounds strong with little to no attenuation besides that which is produced by the cable itself. The only thing I dislike about this plug and I REALLY don't like it are the "Solder Cups" inside of the metal housing that one is supposed to solder their cable to. These cups are heavy and smooth metal so it takes a LOT of heat to prepare them for solder. Not to mention lead free silver solder does not stick well to the solder cups smooth surface without flux. I'm a veteran solderer and I had a major learning curve trying to get solder to stick onto these things. Also, the design of the solder cups is such that it is difficult to keep the connections isolated without great care and planning. Soldering coax to these things is a nightmare. The Switchcraft plugs sound as good and are MUCH easier to solder but they don't have the internal cable clamps the Neutrik's have. I think these plugs are over-priced for what you get; it's a simple plug, made in Germany. If you buy these be sure that you have a new chisel point for your soldering iron and at least a 40w iron. Be prepared to spend a lot more time than you expect to figure out what you are doing with these as it's not obvious at first, you'll see what I mean.
