I really like the Neutrik NP2C 1/4" plugs I used to make my instrument cables so when it came time to make some cables for our PA I thought these would be a less expensive alternative to the Switchcraft 184L. Not so. These plugs are made in China and the internal cable clamp is really soft metal, noticeably softer than a Switchcraft. One of them was defective right out of the box and I replaced a few more after the first gig because they just don't seem reliable. If your handy with a drill you can go with the Switchcraft 280's and drill them out for 14gauge wire.
