Designed for Traktor Pro with STEMS
The latest version of Traktor Pro Software is STEMS ready. A Stem file is an open, multi-channel audio file that contains a track split into four musical elements – bass, drums, vocals, and melody for example. With each element available independently, you can mix in ways that just weren’t possible until now. With Stems fully supported by the included flagship TRAKTOR software, each of these TRAKTOR controllers are pre-mapped and designed for playing with Stems right out of the box. You can get mixing with Stems right away with a 1.5 GB package of free Stems tracks. Derived from selected MASCHINE expansions, these 65 Stems tracks cover a wide range of tempos and genres ranging from techno, house, and funk, to trap, drum and bass, dubstep and more.

Long Awaited Dream
I've personally been waiting on a mixer like this since '07 from Native Instruments. To now have a flagship mixer made by NI with premium guts, I was sold at the teaser visual they displayed in September. I have played with this and taken it to a few gigs and have enjoyed the quality in sound! To have the less extent of setup that I've used with and NI audio 8 connected to my mackie d2 has given me more time to do sound/stage checks. The overall feel of the mixer is NICE. The quality of the knobs from touch to hands are smooth and accurate to your desired turn. The faders, both line and crossfader, are mini innofaders are scratch friendly! I've noticed that the crossfaders paint has worn off from mixing and scratching on it, but nevertheless the panels are removable like NI's Maschine mk2 for customizing so not a big deal to me. Overall I think this was an EXCELLENT choice by Native Instrument to produce a 2 channel with 2 remix decks in one mixer. From a rebel who took a liking to their introduction of Traktor Scratch with the Audio 8, I've have used traktor for my radio show, mixshow, and djing abroad. I've been waiting since 2007 for a dedicated mixer like this, and enjoy Native Instruments outcome.

Hasn't worked properly from the get go
I purchased this in September of 2013. From the get go, it's been a problem. Constantly says low input value, buzzing, does not register the FX changes, won't timecode properly. I have replaced everything -- bought new monitor speakers, new turn tables, new MAC book, new cables, new cartridges and it's still a problem. I even took it back to Guitar Center and not a single staff member could help me because none of them knew how to hook it up to their equipment or even how to work it. I tried hooking it up to their equipment at the store on my own and it said same -- low input value.... they wouldn't take it back, so I sent it to Guitar Center Repair. They sent it back saying it works properly, that it's my equipment that is a problem. There is just no way it's my equipment. I have replaced everything. Its been a frustrating 3 years and I am going to make the jump to Serato

The durability of this thing sucks. I have broken many pieces of traktor gear over the years. They just aren't made for full time turntablists. The problem is I love traktors software so darn much... it integrates perfect but it will also randomly die at your most important gigs. I'll probably buy another so I don't have to deal with transporting my traktor library to serato, but I won't be happy about it.

Mixer works the way it should, traktor time code or internal. Best value for the money this mixer has an internal sound card. You can use it with other programs.

I use this mixer as a scratch DJ several times a week. Definitely got the coverage though because native instruments is known for janky hardware . For me , every browse knob ever has broken on all my gear. Perfect traktor integration though . I would buy again but I would also like to see it updated with a mk2 version that is built better.

there are light clicking noises in the background of both channels. Neither of my MacBooks recognize the mixer every Time. Sometimes it does not recognize the mixer and the RGB pads will not light up. I looked this up and many others are having the same problem. When you switch to "Thru" and play regular vinyl, those light clicking noises are louder. I ruled out all other hardware and it is definitely the mixer. I'm taking this one back. I'm going to try swapping this out for a new one and if that doesn't work, it's going back. I swapped out mixers at home with one of my other mixers and the noise stopped.
