Music Nomad

collapse expand iconDescription

The MusicNomad Humitar ONE is an easy-to-use, no-mess, low-maintenance guitar humidifier and hygrometer that is simple, accurate and reliable. It safely releases moisture evenly to eliminate potential problems such as warping, shrinking and cracking. The innovative Humid-i-Bar reusable sponge holds an ample amount of water, which means less monitoring on your end while ensuring your guitar remains cared for. To test that your guitar is in the safe zone, the Humitar ONE monitors its environment every 20 seconds, and gives you the humidity and temperature readings on its LCD display. It also gives you the maximum and minimum range over the period you are measuring, and can be reset at any time. The Humitar ONE includes additional features such as a reminder of the humidity and temperature safe zones for your instrument, a long-lasting AG 13 battery and Fahrenheit or Celsius readings.

Very solid all around

Detachable hygrometer is nice touch. Special sponge seems to hold more moisture than "damp it" style sponge. A little bulky stretching strings and sitting above guitar but fits in both my hardshell cases w/ no problems.

I attempted to use this product with my dreadnought sized acoustic guitar in a properly fitting Gator case. With the product properly inserted between the strings, the top of the case is forced too tightly against the top of the Humitar. Everytime I opened the case, neither of the buttons would do anything. Each time I had to remove the battery, re-insert, and then obtain a reading. I believe the lining of the case is pressing constantly against the buttons causing the malfunction. I will be attempting to return this to GC.

I don't use it. The product needs distilled water, it is suspended in the sound hole by the strings, and I am not sure it's even necessary. I was told that certain guitars need humidifiers in drier climates due to the wood used. Associate at Guitar Center said the wood can peel back or crack.

  • I would not purchase again.

My Martin HD 28 case will not close properly with this installed. I can close it but I'm afraid its too much pressure on the strings and top.

  • Perfect for keeping the humidity in check
