Description
The Moog Muse 8-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer represents a groundbreaking achievement in synthesizer design, blending Moog's iconic heritage with cutting-edge innovation. This eight-voice bi-timbral instrument is crafted to inspire creativity, delivering rich, analog tones alongside advanced modulation and sequencing capabilities. Featuring vintage-derived discrete oscillators and dual transistor ladder filters, the Muse produces lush, harmonically complex sounds that evolve dynamically. Its intuitive layout, combined with hands-on controls and deep editing options, makes it equally suited for studio production and live performance. The Muse's seamless integration of analog warmth and modern versatility establishes it as a standout synthesizer for musicians seeking to push sonic boundaries.
Authentic Analog Tones From Vintage Oscillators
The Moog Muse's sound engine is built on a foundation of discrete analog circuitry, echoing the legendary tones of Moog's classic synthesizers. Its oscillators deliver warm, vintage character with precision, while a saturating analog mixer drives dual transistor ladder filters for rich harmonic interplay. Discrete stereo amplifiers enhance each voice with depth and presence, creating an unmistakably Moog sound. Whether shaping bass lines or evolving pads, this polysynth captures the organic nuances that only true analog synthesis can provide.
Expansive Modulation Playground for Creative Depth
Designed to expand sonic possibilities, the Muse features advanced modulation capabilities that elevate sound design. A dedicated modulation oscillator serves as a third source for creating complex textures, while the pitch LFO introduces intricate rhythmic patterns and sweeping movements. Each module includes deep editing options such as wave shaping and custom routing, accessible through its OLED display. Probabilistic functions and per-step sequencing allow for evolving soundscapes, ensuring every performance is dynamic and full of creative potential.
64-Step Sequencer and Arpeggiator for Sonic Exploration
The Muse's powerful sequencing and arpeggiation features are designed for real-time musical exploration. Its arpeggiator offers per-timbre clock division, octave range control and programmable rhythmic patterns. The 64-step sequencer enables users to arrange melodies, bass lines and modulation data independently, with precise per-step editing for detailed compositions. Sequence chaining allows for extended arrangements, while parameter automation ensures every note and effect can be fine-tuned for rhythmic expression. These tools unlock the full potential of the instrument for live performance and studio production.
Designed for Effortless Hands-on Control
True to Moog's philosophy of intuitive design, the Muse delivers immediate access to all essential parameters through a knob-per-function layout. Individual menus for each module are navigated via a clear OLED interface, ensuring seamless control during sound creation. Dedicated buttons for chord memory, arpeggiator and sequencer transport provide powerful performance capabilities without compromising workflow. This hands-on design ensures a direct connection between the player and the instrument, making sound design fluid and engaging.
A Powerful Moog Built for Musical Innovators
The Moog Muse combines the heritage of Moog's legendary analog circuitry with modern features tailored for studio and stage use. Its authentic tones, advanced modulation tools and intuitive controls make it a versatile instrument for musicians pushing creative limits. Whether crafting intricate sequences or performing live, the Muse delivers the tools and inspiration needed to create standout musical moments.

This is third Moog in family. Great poly addition to Model D and Subsequent 37CV. Sounds gorgeous, handy layout and controls. Inspiring use flow and very approachable to experiment. Only one issue is quirky tuning procedure.

After using soft synths for years, I decided to invest in some actual hardware. I knew that in many ways a real synth was going to be more expensive than software and probably less flexible. There were a range of nice options to choose from a various price points, including Arturia's Polybrute 12 and the ASM Hydrasynth, both of which offered more voices and some very cool featuresets. I opted for the Muse because I love the synth's sound and after having the opportunity to play with one for a short time, I was confident that I'd be able to use it for my projects. I do not regret my decision. This is an inspiring instrument to work with and the sounds are like the comfort food of the synth universe. The Moog Muse is easy to use and has some great innovations in the arpeggiator and sequencer, which nicely complement sound design and the instrument's flexible modulation setup. The Muse's layout makes programming straightforward, but there are deep options to explore. Overall, the Muse is just a lot of fun which is, at the end of the day, what music's about.
