MESA/Boogie

Description

The Mesa/Boogie PowerHouse Reactive Load Attenuator puts tone and feel first while preserving the magic of your tube amp in all its harnessed-volume glory. Featuring an expanded version of the reactive load found in the CabClone IR series, the PowerHouse attenuator protects your amp's power section and operates in much the same way as your favorite speaker cabinet does, but allows you to run silently and safely when a live speaker cab cannot be used. Set to Load or Speaker, any signal can be put through the 1/4" line out on the rear panel to your destination of choice, from impulse response players to additional amplifiers. In Speaker mode, two 1/4" speaker jacks function just like those on your amplifier. In both cases, the attenuator is active and can be used to reduce the output of amplifiers safely. A voicing switch rounds out the front panel and includes normal, bright and warm settings on the 3-position mini toggle.

  • Saved me from regretting buying my new amp

I have a Soldano Astro head with a 2x12 cab and with 30w, my ears were wrecked at 1/4 volume and I wasn't happy with the tone. I did my research and took the expensive plunge buying this. It just freaking works. My amp sounds great and can be used at my non-arena sized gigs.

  • Allows me to dial in amp yet okay at lower volumes.

Allows me to dial in dual rectifier and get tones in looking for out of the amp but play at normal levels at home for practice. Highly recommend!

  • Does the job but compresses tone a lot

Does a great job reducing volume but at the cost of tone. Even on the lowest attenuation setting it compresses the sound of the amp a lot. My amp sounds much better at low volumes without the attenuator. I ended up returning it. If your amp has a master volume skip this product.

  • Helped me get the tone I want in a small space
