Martin

Description

The Martin OM-45 spruce-rosewood left-handed orchestra acoustic guitar represents the pinnacle of Martin's Standard Series, blending iconic tone with modern refinements. Built with a solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, this left-handed OM delivers a full-spectrum sound that's rich, dynamic and nuanced. Golden Era-style scalloped Sitka spruce X-bracing, borrowed from the Modern Deluxe Series, enhances the guitar's response and sustain with a more breathy, vintage character. Elegant pearl inlays and abalone trim recall meticulous prewar craftsmanship, while thoughtful neck and fingerboard enhancements ensure superb playability. From the studio to the stage, the OM-45 is a sophisticated choice for discerning players who demand timeless tone and modern comfort in equal measure.

Spruce and East Indian Rosewood for Timeless Tone

The OM-45 pairs a solid spruce top with a solid East Indian rosewood back and sides—an iconic combination known for its rich tonal balance and expressive range. The spruce top delivers articulate highs and a crisp attack, while the rosewood body contributes warmth, depth and harmonic complexity. Aged toner on the top lends the guitar a graceful vintage appearance, complementing the heirloom-level tonewoods. As the guitar ages, its voice will only deepen and improve, making it not just an instrument, but a lasting investment in premium sound and craftsmanship.

Golden Era-Style Bracing for Breathy, Vintage Tone

Inspired by the legendary craftsmanship of 1930s Martins, the OM-45 features Golden Era-style scalloped X-bracing crafted from Sitka spruce. This 1/4" bracing pattern is lighter and more responsive, allowing the top to vibrate with increased flexibility. The result is a breathier, more open sound with enhanced sustain, clarity and projection. Whether you're recording intricate fingerpicking patterns or commanding the stage with bold strumming, the GE scalloped bracing gives this OM a dynamic voice that responds effortlessly to your touch. Martin's decision to bring GE bracing to the refreshed Standard Series reflects the brand's dedication to fusing vintage tonal ideals with modern precision.

Low Oval Neck Profile Optimized for Playability

The OM-45's GE modified low oval neck profile—paired with a high-performance taper—offers an effortless playing feel while preserving vintage-inspired aesthetics. Crafted from genuine mahogany, the neck joins the body at the 14th fret and features a gloss finish for smooth movement. The thin ebony fingerboard features gently beveled edges and refined string spacing for enhanced comfort across a wide range of playing styles. Whether you prefer intricate soloing, complex chords or subtle dynamics, the OM-45's neck design delivers clarity, control and confidence into your hands.

Premium Martin Appointments and Classic Style

Timeless Style 45 appointments bring a sense of refined visual elegance to the OM-45. The abalone top inlay, rosette and side and back purfling reflect the highest level of Martin artistry, while antique white binding and gold open-gear tuners maintain the guitar's vintage appeal. A faux tortoiseshell pickguard adds to the classic aesthetic, and bone bridge pins with abalone dots deliver both tonal and visual detail. Every element—from the block-inlay headplate logo to the long diamond neck transition—is executed with precision, making the OM-45 as stunning to look at as it is to hear.

An Iconic Orchestra Model for Left-Handed Players

Designed for players who demand tonal sophistication, elegant aesthetics and supreme comfort, it's ideal for fingerstyle players, singer-songwriters and anyone seeking a well-balanced voice that shines in any context. The nicest guitar I've ever had next to my Martin D-45 Modern Deluxe which I also purchased at Guitar Center. Beautiful sounding, beautiful looking. Getting a guitar at Guitar Center is a great experience. Great price and great financing options. I brought my OM-45 to my favorite Guitar Center which is in East Brunswick, NJ. It needed to be set up professionally and they did a great job. All in all, I am very pleased with the guitar and Guitar Center's sales and service.
