Description

The Martin 640 Dreadnought Hardshell Case, the premier safeguard for your cherished Martin dreadnought acoustic guitar. Constructed from durable, molded plastic and emblazoned with the iconic Martin logo, this premium hardshell case shields your instrument from damage and the elements.

Rugged Exterior Built to Withstand Impacts

The Martin 640 case features an impact-resistant ABS plastic shell and nickel-plated hardware designed to withstand the rigors of transporting your guitar. Its tough yet lightweight build offers maximum protection without adding unnecessary bulk. The embossed C. . Martin & Co. logo prominently displays the brand's reputation for excellence and quality.

Plush Interior Cradles Your Guitar

Inside, a padded plush lining gently cushions your dreadnought, securing it snugly in place during travel and storage. The lining's soft, high-pile fleece prevents scratches and abrasions to your guitar's finish. The case's molded interior is shaped to the exact contours of a dreadnought body, safely supporting the guitar's unique shape.

Protect Your Investment!

This is the case I have for my Martin HD28. Nice case! Sturdy, well made. The accessories pocket inside is big enough to fit lots of goodies! Very plush interior. Latches are sturdy, have held up well, and the finish on them has not worn at all. Well worth the price to protect your guitar!

Warning!!!!

Do not order this case!!! If you do, you WILL NOT receive the item that is pictured here on Guitar Centers website. You will receive a completely different product and not the one you see here with the large molded feet on the side of the case and the molded bumper around the bottom. You will receive an inferior product with a major manufacturers defect, design flaw or whatever you would like to call it. You will be sent the case with the metal feet on the side that are TOO SHORT and do not extend past the hinge. It is large, narrow and SHARP and will gouge yours or someone else's hardwood floors and scratch other materials. (It also has an impression on the top shaped like an "m") Also as a result, your case will not sit level on its side, it will tilt to one side. That hing is not made like the ones on the wood case to be used as one of the feet. 3 times I was sent one of these cases, all with this problem. THEN, ONLY 1 MONTH LATER, THE PICTURE ON THE WEBSITE WAS CHANGED SHOWING A DIFFERENT, NEW STYLE CASE, the one that is there now with the large molded feet and bumper. So I ordered the NEW case shown on the website. SUPRISE!!! I received the OTHER case....TWICE again. Store Managers got involved and nobody at GC (or Musicians Friend) could figure out how to get me the proper case I ordered and was now being shown on the website. Calls to the warehouse and everything. The reason why it appears is because it does not EXIST. I called Martin and they said the case shown on the website (with the large molded feet and the bumper) IS A MODEL NO LONGER MADE OR AVAILABLE. So, from what has happened it appears GC is showing you a product with better features that is not even available, so you will order it and then they will send you a different one WITHOUT THOSE FEATURES.....AND IS FLAWED. Just to move their bad product. Lousy thing to do....by a lousy company!!! Spending my money elsewhere like many others now.

The Martin HD-28 is not normally in stock. I love to go to the acoustic room at the Fredericksburg Va Guitar Center from time to time and see the new and used stock ( I have bought 5 different ( used and new ) guitars here over the years. Well the last time I vistited, the store had more high end guitars. And it had the Martin HD-28 I had been wanting. I played it and my wife immediately told the manager to ring it up. I absolutely love it. I now have high end Taylor/Martin/Gibson/Yahama guitars. Some came from this store.

Very nice playability after Guitar Center setup. Action higher with factory specs 0.125/0.110 and needed adjustment to lower to .095/.080 height. Nice sound. Guitar case has nice fit.

Its a great case and protects my Martin . I did not purchase it separately , but If I had a martin without a case it would be my first choice.

I have a vintage 1956 Martin D18 guitar and needing to find a hard shell case for it. Which Martin case will it fit in? The 640 or 000 or do you have another one that may work. Thanks for your help. Tim

This case should work well. It should be compatible with any dreadnought style case.
