Marshall

collapse expand iconDescription

In a nutshell, the Marshall all-valve, 2-channel JVM215C is a 2-channel, 50W version of the most versatile Marshall amplifier ever made, the JVM410C. Each of its 2 channels are completely independent of each other, and they boast 3 Modes, all 6 of which are footswitchable and feature their own unique gain structure. It makes the JVM 2-channel effectively 6 Marshalls in one!

The JVM215C has studio-quality digital reverb with a level control for each channel. This is also footswitchable, as are the amp's two Master Volume controls and the Series/Parallel effects loop. Resonance and Presence are equipped with master controls.

An ingenious footswitch (UK patent pending) and the fact all the amp's switching (channel/modes, Reverb, Master Volume selection, FX loop) can be done via MIDI and you're looking at an incredibly flexible amp! The 4-way footswitch boasts LEDs and memory, plus it connects to the amp via a regular guitar cable.

From the cleanest clean to the filthiest distortion ever found in a Marshall and all points in-between, the JVM215C all-valve combo will give you whatever tone you need right when you need it.

I plugged this in at my house last night and absolutely enjoyed the sound that I heard. When I had my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Gen 3, it took some time to break in from new. The sound was okay, but stiff; it took time to open up, as the tubes and speaker needed a break in period. This new JVM doesn't seem to require that break in period; it sounded really amazing immediately. I've been wanting a good, high gain amp, and I'm so glad to have found a good one that's versatile and useful for a ton of applications. Definitely the tone I wanted. The ONLY complaint is that, in my heart, I still love the spring reverb that my Deluxe had, and if I ever became famous enough to get a signature model, I'd try to get spring reverb on my units. Haha. But the digital reverb is really good. It's just different like comparing apples to oranges.

Great amp. There are so many different combinations of sounds and it is very easy to dial in the tones you want. The reverb is excellent also! Great buy from Guitar Center.

I am experienced musician who plays a number of instruments Over the past few years I have looking for a better overall sound and this amp ended my searching I can't say enough good comments about this amp and the Marshall sound. Without any pedals, you plug in and it gives me what I want across a variety of genres. Although I loved my Fender Twin, this Marshall is more me I could never get the twin to give me that Marshall sound so I did what I knew I needed to - buy a Marshall. For anyone thinking about this amp, buy it Don't hesitate.

I'm a 40+ year experienced musician, with a gigging 5-piece band of pros playing a huge range of rock to rhythm and blues, raunchy to delicate. This amp really does so many things well, going from total metal to jazz with a footswitch, just what I need with this group. All six voices are really useful. The clean is clear and warm but not too bright. I've been a fender amp guy mostly, with a Quad reverb and a Peavey Delta blues and a few more, and I still love those amps, but the clean on this is sweeter, nothing harsh or biting as a fender-type can be; it has just the right amount of break-up. The Orange and Red crunch channels are excellent Stones/Blues, and the overdrive channels are sheer Marshall monster rock---great for soloing, with harmonic feedback at will on Orange and Red. Orange is really Santana, and the Red channel is truly over the top, in a nice way. You can literally get infinite sustain out of it for any kind of song; it isn't just a metal channel. I'm glad I took the Marshall leap with this model. Very sweet roar. The beast just makes me smile. The speaker is a straight-on punchy metal speaker, and is perfectly fine, and the amp will melt the paint in terms of volume in most venues. I added an Egnator 2x12 Tourmaster extension and it added that level of bell-tone, and it's a perfect rig. The footswitch is quirky, though. Once you understand how it thinks, it's very handy, but it's a little weird at first. It would be nice to have a couple more buttons to pre-program, but it still is an incredibly fast way to instantly change the voice of the guitar without the oddities that sometimes come with modeling tones, which I've never liked. Absolutely a superior and incredible amp, you can't go wrong with this baby.

I recently bought this amp to replace my Fender Twin Reverb 65 re-issue. The Fender is an excellent amp in its own right, but I couldn't get the crunch/overdrive sound I was looking for after trying four different overdrive pedals. Since buying the Marshall, I could't be happier. The clean channel sounds surprisingly good. Yes it breaks up sooner than a Fender, but you would expect that from a Marshall. The flexibility and sound of the different crunch/overdrive channels is excellent. The amp is loud for gigs, but flexible enough for home use. The foot pedal that comes with the amp is great. The fx loop in the back works great for my modulation pedals. The reverb doesn't compare to the Fender spring reverb, but it's good enough. Overall an excellent amp.

  • JVM 215C Marshall Greatness!!

I have been playing my Fender Strat for years along with my Fender Twin reverb amp. Recently I bought a LP 58 Reissue and loved the sound through my Fender twin reverb but there was still something missing. During a trip to the music store I hooked up the LP to the JVM 215C and immediately knew I had to buy one even if it meant shelling out $1200-1800. So when I saw a remanufactured unit come up for $1200 I did not hesitate. Now I have been playing my LP with the JVM and truly feel and sound like Led Zepplin, Metallica, Van Halen, Bon Jovi or The Beatles. Easy switching between Clen/Crunch and Gain Channels. The 6 presets are easy and for me the way to go. The Strat and the Les Paul combined with this great Marshall amps provides me with any tonality I could ever want to achieve. ROCK ON!!
