Description

GV 4 Series

The GV Series is the range of bass instruments that demonstrate Markbass' ability to produce a high-quality instrument at an incredible price. This achievement is a result of tireless efforts to compare quality with price of parts and materials to get the best components possible for players. 

Playability, Comfort and Quality

The bass neck has the same characteristics as Markbass' JP series of instruments, boasting inherent playability, and comfort. The balance of the strings are accurate and defined, without a 'boomy' resonant frequency even across the fifth string's range. Each instrument is inspected for quality against strict requirements at their headquarters in Italy.

MB Instrument Pre

The Gloxy's onboard preamp is designed from the ground up by Markbass to faithfully reproduce the sound of your instrument. Changes in the volume level when switching from Active to Passive and back again are almost imperceptible, which is a unique feature of the exceptional circuitry inside. Simple and ergonomic controls allow you to richly boost or cut your EQ without clipping or distorting the signal, even at the maximum settings.

In addition to the great value, all instruments in this series come with a Universal Bass Bag to keep your new purchase safe. Like all Markbass products, this case is made to precise quality standards, without compromise.

    I bought GV 5 about 1.5 yrs ago and was blown away by its sound and comfort. After that, I decided I need its counterpoint a GV 4 , that way during live gigs there was no difference in sound when switching basses. Action was alittle high but nothing alittle adjustment couldnt fix. After setting up this bass I was not surprised it sounded as good as my GV 5. The feel of this bass is just as good as any of my more expensive jazz basses but with more punch! For the money, this bass is a steal and a joy to play!

    Getting rid of my P bass, music man, etc. was in the market for an active jazz then my GC guy suggested this. Played Fender, Alembic, Steinberger, Rick and most major brands. This does it all. Great feel, great playing even like the stings and I bought a set of flats but probably won't switch.

    I don't have really anything bad to say, electronics are great and the frets feel good.. maybe a bit sharp on the edges but nothing a file won't fix. I love the amount of unique tones you can get out of this bass. also I love the color but it's a lighter green than pictured.

    I spent 3 hours at GC today, tried all brands of 4 string basses. This bass was the most comfortable, string heights, and tone, due to my small hands. It fit my hands like a glove.

    I was looking for a jazz bass style bass when I saw this one. It had everything I was looking for so I took a chance on a brand that builds great amps and cabs. I figured it must be good. Now that its here I'm glad I did. It's a very nice bass. It has a nice finish. The neck plays just amazing. Decent tuners. The electronics are what makes this bass. I own a couple of Schecters. The preamps in those I thought were pretty good. The preamp in this bass just blows them away. The tone knobs are just that. No wild volume swings when you push a band up or down. It also can be used in passive mode by pulling up on the tone control. If you switch between active and passive there is no noticable volume difference. Genius! My new favorite bass that cost hundered less than my Schecters. I would highly recommend this bass to anyone.
