Looked for a easy to transport/setup system that still had good sound quality, I shopped for over a year, trying many brands, before buying the Mackie Thump 15" version. At first I thought I made a mistake, but after some use, and break-in time, I find the sound became rich and full, and as good as any I have ever heard. I am a "mobile DJ" for a non-profit dance club (Indydancers.com - ABA), and I have worked for over 20 years doing up to 70 events a year, at all sorts of venues, ranging from 50 to 500+ attending, so versatility, sound quality, durability, and portability, is very important. I own two of these speakers and plan to buy two more (to cover out door events). Note; I have not needed a sub, as these 15's have great base response, so instead, I am just adding two more 15's. You can buy (slightly) better speakers 9on paper), but they cost many times the price, these are by far the best value today, March 31, 2018 - D. Mindach.

They Sound great bur durability may be an issue.
I have owned Mackie Thumps since the first time they came out and have had a great experieince with them until I bought two of these newer versions. I bought a speaker in June of 2018 and here I am in October having to find a warranty repair place close by here in the Inland Empire which doesn't really exist. What's wrong? Well.. the load range 15" speaker just quit working.. All the speaker puts ut is high end from the top horn. It may be an easy fix, I don;t know. I just don't want to have to worry that I am going to show up to an event and have the speaker not work. I'm thinking I may change to QSC since they are great quality and if they quit working I can drive to Fountan Valley to their headquarters to get service done. So If you do buy these.. Buy three just in case you are lucky like me and get one that quits working. Otherwise, they sound great and really crank out the DBs for dancing..

I am 71 and a half years old, and have a Southern Gospel singing group with my wife, daughter, and grand daughter. These new speakers makes it so much easier for me to set up, and tear down, and the sound is incredible.
This thing rocks and 2 are unbelievable.

I will be using the Thump 12's and 15's for a mobile DJ business. The 12's are not as loud as I expected but the 15's are insanely loud. Now I have to either learn how to control the mix or buy a mixing board. The default sound is not quite there on the highs, lows and mids. All in all its a good setup that's light weight and packs a punch.
Great sound

Great for smaller outdoor venues that require extra power to get our sound out. The Mackie Thump 15 gets it done with clarity and good bass response without adding a separate sub

I just bought 2 Thump 15A speakers. How do you control the volume? On the back I have a CH 1 w/a gain knob, a CH 2 w/ a gain knob and a mix out w/ a main knob. Do I just use the gain knob for volume? ( I know that's a sin. LOL )
