Mackie

collapse expand iconDescription

This is the second redesign of the popular SRM450. The version 3 iteration of this sound reinforcement industry standard offers numerous features unavailable on previous models. It is a 1,000W powered enclosure with a 12" LF driver and a 1.4" HF compression driver, a precision two-way crossover and some output processing that you will really appreciate.

The SRM340v3 has a "built-like-a-tank" chassis that is cut in such a way that it is also an excellent wedge floor monitor. Not only that, there is a voicing select switch that when engaged for monitor use, adds greater upper end clarity for vocal intelligibility and an enhanced feedback rejection. When using the SRM450v3 in a DJ context, the Speaker Mode switch adds just the perfect low end bump. It likewise has a setting optimized for solo entertainers.

A flexible two-channel mixer is installed in the back panel as well, allowing you to use one SRM450v3 as an entire PA system. The built-in mixer features two XLR/TRS combination jacks, stereo RCA inputs and discrete gain controls for each channel. Lightweight, versatile, loud and clear.

I use this for DJing along with other speakers and for small functions have used it as a stand alone system with mic. Love the sound quality.

  • Mackie 450v.3's sound better than higher priced speakers!

Have researched, purchased and demoed a large variety of speakers in my quest for the best, regardless of price. After spending over six months engaged in this relentless endeavor, I finally realized that the Mackie SRM 450v.3's have the best overall sound quality; well balanced mids and highs with plenty of tight low end. Other higher priced speakers were good, too, but seemed to have over pronounced mids that would sometimes sound a little harsh. So in my final analysis, I realized that higher price doesn't always predict the best and greatest. Consequently, I would highly recommend the 450v.3's without any equivocation:) And with the money you save, buy a sub, too! A way to go mackie!

Have been researching PA main speakers for over six months, and have tried everything from cheap, affordable, good, great, expensive and high-end brands. After demoing the Mackie SRM 450's, there was no longer any question or doubt about which speakers had the best high definition, best low end, mid and high range clarity and overall best sound quality and value. Now, the question remains whether to keep the 350's or the 450's. Both are phenomenal speakers for the price, and easily can go toe-to-toe with the high-end brands....no joke.

Get it, you won't regret it. Feedback destroyer is a great plus for venues that are acoustically challenged.
