While the JP-2C streamlines controls, it provides powerful tone shaping where it counts. Channels 2 and 3 each have a 5-band graphic EQ, allowing you to craft dedicated settings for rhythm and lead. Tweak the mids and presence to cut through the mix, boost the bass for thicker chords or scoop the mids for a classic metal sound. The EQs give you flexibility the original IIC+ lacked so you can dial in the perfect tone for any genre or gig.

Simple and Intuitive Controls

Unlike other Mesa amps with multiple voicings and modes per channel, the JP-2C keeps things straightforward with one voicing per channel. This simplicity makes it easy to dial in your perfect tone. The JP-2C does away with the Lead Master and Volume 1 controls, presetting them internally for optimum performance in each channel. What's left is an intuitive layout that gets you to amazing Mark IIC+ tones quickly without frustration. The JP-2C proves that sometimes less really is more.

Hybrid Power and Speaker for Fat Tone

The JP-2C pumps 60watts of power through a custom-voiced 12" speaker, giving you enough volume and headroom for live playing while retaining the signature Boogie sound. Its hybrid solid-state/tube power amp uses four 6L6 tubes in the preamp and power amp for rich harmonics, with a solid-state section providing tight bass and controlled highs. This hybrid design reduces weight without compromising tone. The JP-2C's single 12" Celestion speaker was custom-designed to complement the amp's gain structure, providing a perfect balance of warmth and articulation.

Enhanced Pull Shift Controls for High-Gain Channels

The JP-2C features modified Pull Shift controls, enhancing both high-gain Channels 2 and 3. Original PULL SHIFT settings from the IIC+ are optimized for simplicity, and two new PULL options have been added: PULL GAIN on the GAIN control and PULL PRES on the PRESENCE control. PULL GAIN slightly increases the internal VOLUME 1 control setting, providing a small gain boost for specific styles. PULL PRES adjusts the presence frequency, offering a higher range for top-end control when pulled out and a lower frequency for increased cut and focus when pushed in, beneficial for high-gain crunch rhythm sounds.

Comprehensive EQ and Connectivity Features

The JP-2C also includes two 5-Band Graphic Equalizers, each assignable to any of the three channels via a 3-position toggle switch. The EQ window section houses the 10 EQ sliders and control switches for the Effects Loop, Reverb, Channel Select, and SHRED mode, allowing easy sound adjustments. The new SHRED voicing feature in Channels 2 and 3 enhances harmonic layering for high-gain crunch sounds. Additionally, the JP-2C offers independent, footswitchable reverb, a fully buffered tube FX loop, a Cabclone™ D.I. cabinet simulator with various voicing options, and a headphone output for convenient practice. Three DIN jacks provide connectivity for foot controllers and MIDI devices, allowing easy access to the amp's features and settings.
