These castanets have an authentic sound! Mounted on a stick, they are easy to play. They sound great live and on recordings made in my 16 track studio. My band, The Unforgiven, does a lot of covers & Classic Rock from the 50's and 60's and we make a lot of demos featuring those tunes. What "Wall of Sound" recording would sound right without a full compliment of percussion? After releasing 13 different CDs in 10 years, I figured out that these castanets were just the thing to round out the sound, especially on "Be my Baby" & "And Then I Kissed Her." I'm a bass player (no0t a percussionist) and I was able to figure out how to play these 'in time' in 5 minutes! The salesperson who helped me was courteous and knowledgeable. My order was shipped to the store for free and I was able to pick them up promptly! Kudos, Rockville Guitar Center!
